If your Nissan Sentra does not come with Bluetooth built-in, you can still add it with an aftermarket Bluetooth receiver. These receivers can be found online or at electronics stores and are relatively inexpensive.
To install the receiver, you can follow these steps:
Turn off your car's ignition and open the glove box.
Locate the back of the car stereo and find the auxiliary input port. It should be a small, round port labeled "AUX."
Connect the Bluetooth receiver to the auxiliary input port with a 3.5mm auxiliary cable.
Connect the Bluetooth receiver to a power source, either through a USB port or a 12-volt adapter.
Turn on your car's ignition and switch the car stereo to auxiliary mode.
Turn on the Bluetooth receiver and pair it with your phone.
Once connected, you should be able to play music or take calls through your car stereo using the Bluetooth receiver.
Keep in mind that some aftermarket Bluetooth receivers may have slightly different installation instructions, so be sure to read the manual that comes with your specific receiver.
This may be a problem with the ribbon contact under the steering wheel know as the "clockspring drum" It can also be the switch. Before doing any work make darn sure you disarm the Airbag system, it can go off and badly injure you.

I purchased a 2005 S-Type Jaguar recently and it is Bluetooth capable. I have synced my cell phone to it and it has accepted it. I can call out and it rings and I can hear the person on the other line. The problem is that they cannot hear me. When I start the car, I get a messages that says "Mute and replace handset to continue hands free call or replace handset to end call." What does that mean??? Please help.
Sorry, the original Swedish version of the 9-3 had the bluetooth capability but GM removed it for cost reasons. GM has ruined Saab in many ways. There is no way to sync your phone with your 9-3.
Car should be under warranty. First stop is to the dealership. Sounds like sync software issue. You may need to wait until an update is available. Good luck.
Obviously the first thing is to make sure that your phone has bluetooth. Turn the bluetooth on and set it so that other devices can see it.
Next scroll through the sync system until the SYNC PHONE option comes up, press OK and go through the prompts on the screen in the car, it should then come up with a PIN on your car that you have to enter into your phone to connect the two, once the code has been entered into the phone, that should be all you need to do
