On the Mark VII, they came with an emergency fill schrader(like a tire valve) valve on the compressor head. To use this, simply apply compressed air to the Schrader valve WHILE THE PUMP IS RUNNING. The reason I say while the pump is on, is because if the compressor is on, the solenoids on the front or rear WILL be open, thus allowing air into the air spring(bag).

I have a service engine soon light on and have hooked up an OBD11 reader to it and got code P0410 pertaining to a secondary air injection problem. hoses are fine, pump is new.

P0410 Oldsmobile - Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction

Possible causes: - Faulty Vacuum hoses damaged
- Faulty Air Pump inoperative
- Air bypass solenoid harness is open or shorted
- Air bypass solenoid circuit poor electrical connection
- Air bypass solenoid leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed
- Air diverter valve leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed

Tech notes: Visually inspect AIR pump and AIR bypass valve harness and connector, if connector are OK, then replaced AIR bypass valve.

When is the code detected? The secondary air injection system does not detect the presence of air in the exhaust when introduced by the secondary air injection system.

Possible symptoms: - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine hesitation

P0410 Oldsmobile Description An air pump is used on the vehicle to lower tail pipe emissions on start-up. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) grounds the Air pump relay control circuit which energizes the Air pump. The PCM also grounds the Air combination valve vacuum control solenoid circuit, which energizes the Air vacuum control solenoid. Vacuum is then applied to both Air combination valve diaphragms which opens the shut off valves. The PCM enables both circuits simultaneously when Air system operations id desired. When the AIR system is active, then Air pump forces fresh air into the exhaust stream in order to accelerate catalyst operation. The AIR combination valves replace the conventional check valves. When the AIR system is inactive the shut off valves prevent air flow in either direction.

so ill post only for 1.
the LA1
here are the steps.
NO FSM Sux huh? nor an alldata.com account, why not that? 15 bucks?

STAT out.
Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.

Drain the coolant until the coolant level is below the thermostat. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Refer To List 1) .

Remove the crossover exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (Refer To List 2) in Engine Exhaust.

Remove the radiator hose from the thermostat housing.

Remove the thermostat housing bolts and clean any sealer from the bolt threads.

Remove the thermostat housing and gasket.
remove STAT
next is crossover page.

Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Refer To List 1) in Engine Electrical.

Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.

Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Refer To List 2) in Engine Cooling.

Remove the inlet radiator hose from the engine. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (Refer To List 3) in Engine Cooling.

Remove the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to Thermostat Bypass Pipes Replacement in Engine Cooling.

Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield bolts.

Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield.
  1. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe studs/nuts.
  2. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.

end , remove.

now the bypass pipe FWD cars SUCK
  1. Disconnect the left engine mount strut from the engine.
  2. Remove the heater hose from the bypass pipe.
  3. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe to throttle body nut.
  4. Use the J 38185 in order to remove the thermostat bypass pipe hose clamps (1,5).
  5. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe to cylinder head nut (3).
  6. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe bolt (4).
  7. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe hose.
  8. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe.
sigh.....
why not log in to alldata.com
read the page then ask ques tons that are not clear.
and next time post the engine type.

Engine or hydraulic system overheating clearpix.gif clearpix.gif clearpix.gif clearpix.gif clearpix.gif clearpix.gif Coolant system low on coolant in 6020, 6030, 6030 Premium, 7020, 7030 and
7030 Premium Series Tractors.

]clearpix.gif//-->
Symptoms
After several hours of work, warning system indicates hot engine coolant or hot hydraulic oil.
Situation or Problem
Coolant level in reservoir is between the "MIN" and "MAX" range but engine or hydraulic system is overheating.
Summary
Air is entering cooling system, hindering coolant flow. Check coolant level. Fill to the "MAX" line on the coolant reservoir.
Bleeding Cooling System:
The bleed valve (see Operator's Manual for location) on the radiator must be closed when the tractor is operating. Open the valve when coolant is drained or filled. If the bleed valve is left open, coolant will internally bypass between the low temperature circuit and engine high temperature circuit causing overheating. When bleeding the system, open the bleed valve and run the engine with no load for 5 minutes at 1700 rpm. Then shut engine off for 5 to 10 minutes before closing the drain valve. Check the coolant level. If level is below the "MAX" fill line, repeat this procedure until coolant level stays at the "MAX" line.

Abs code PO411

That is not an ABS system code, it is a powertrain fault code.P0411 - Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected, most common cause is a failed electric motor in the air injection pump.
The pump is under the hood.
Other Possible causes- Faulty Vacuum hoses damaged
- Air bypass solenoid harness is open or shorted
- Air bypass solenoid circuit poor electrical connection
- Air bypass solenoid leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed
- Air diverter valve leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed

Recharging air condition . Do u have to bypass compresser censors to get coolant to take

Sometimes yes, you will need to jump the cycling switch or also called the low cut off switch, this is located on the filter dryer,a quick note, if the system has air or moisture in it and you charge it you may get cold air to blow but will cause damage to the compressor over time and cause it to go bad. the correct way is the evacuate the system and then vacuum it down and then fill with some oil and fill with the correct amount of freon, without gauges its hard to know if you are adding the correct amount and this causes damage over time, just because its blowing cold doesnt mean it fine, good day, hope this helps.

Car ran low on diesel. will not restart

I'm not sure the MK4 1.9TDI has a primmer actuator like the the old models did. This primes the fuel system removing air inside the system. I know there is a procedure in your case to prime the system which will require cracking open a valve and bypassing the fuel pump relay to operate manually filling the system with diesel and ridding the air inside.

Coolant fill procedure

You may have air trapped in the system or rust plugging up the rear heater core. core, if it is just an air problem do this: Fill the radiator and the coolant recovery tank as full as possible, then raise the front of van as high as you can with a floor jack, run the engine until it is at normal operating temperature, let it cool down, running water over the radiator speeds this up, this should purge the air out of te system and cure your issue with the rear heater. Make sure you have a good radiator cap if it is the original one replace it. If the system still has no flow to the rear pull out the rear heater core and flush it out or replace it.
