My 2003 ford ranger edge with a 3.0 liter flex fuel engine is only getting 12.5 mpg. how can I improve the milage? It has 210000 miles on it.

These are ideas only as there are many things that could improve gas mileage.
When was the last time you had a tune up? (Spark plugs check for bad sensors . When was the Air filter changed..
do you always check the air pressure in the tires. Low tires can bring your mileage down five miles per gallon or more.
Do you drive with fast starts and stops.
Do you run short trips? Short trips does not let the engine warm up to the right traveling temperature. I live in town and I get about 15 miles per gallon in town but if I drive 20 miles or more I get 24 or more with my Buick.
You will get less mileage if you drive in real cold weather.

1998 Buick century hard to start when warm

Although this is almost impossible to diagnose without access to the vehicle, it is quite common for the Mass Airflow Sensor to get dirty and cause this kind of issue. I would remove it and clean it. Cleaners are available at almost any automotive parts retailers.

When my buick century 1995 is cold it will start but won't rev up. once it is hot it runs okay

Number of possibilities. See if you have any diagnostic codes stored. Could be throttle position sensor, coolant temp. sensor, hard to say. I would start with the codes. Does it start easy when warmed up, and run good? Boy, I just don't know.

My "security" Light came on while I was driving to

Sounds like you take pride in caring for your Buick:) You are probably correct about the cold weather affecting your "Security Light"...have you had your car washed recently? Any of the door trunk or hood jams could be frozen...and sending a "Security Alert"...I would monitor it over the next few days...hopefully some warm up...before having it serviced:)

My 1994 Buick Century starts and runs fine when it is cold. After it runs for a while and is warm if I stop the engine it will not re-start. It acts like it wants to flood out. If I wait until it cools...

Hi, This sounds like the ect sensor is malfunctioning, This sensor provides info to the computer that the motor is in closed or open loop. Open loop means the engine is cold send more gas, It doesnt work propery it sends to much fuel on start up, Problem is better known as wet soak condition..

You might want to check the ECT (engine coolant temperature sensor) It could be defective and telling the PCM (car's computer) that the engine coolant is cold all the time.
