SOURCE: I cannot get the Lower control arm off my 1994

Yes if you put the nut back on (but only loose) and give it a good whack to free it off, the reason to put the nut back on first is so you dont mash the thread on the end of the bolt
Hope this helps

SOURCE: The bolt on the right front control arm that holds

I had the same problem with the shock mount. I used a cut off tool to remove the damaged stud then drilled out the riveted portion of the stud with a 5/8 inch drill. I purchsaed the 5/8 inch grade 8 bolt and nut from Tractor Supply. I welded the head of the bolt on the outside of the control arm with a mig welder. The 3 inch bolt length is perfect as far as the bolt shoulder ends just inside of the shock bushing.

Is there a way to replace a broken eye bolt on a 1992 Dixon ztr? The threads are broken in the cradle

If its a case of the threaded part of the eye bolt sheared off and inside the cradle. you may be able to unscrew it by drilling a hole through the centre and screwing in an eaxi-out which is a tapered tool with a left hand thread. So as you srew in the eazi-out it gets tighter until hopefully the broken thread comes out.
Failing that.
Buy a new eye bolt
Take it to an engineering supplier so they can identify the thread size and thread form
Buy a tapping drill and a set of taps to suit the eye bolt
Carefully drill a pilot hole through the centre of the broken stud in the cradle
use the tapping drill to enlarge the hole
Starting with the taper tap, run the tap down and progress with the second tap and then the final one - use lubricant when cutting the thread.

Got a 95 Chevy Monte Carlo LS I can't get my last valve to tighten down think the hole is script what should I do r how to fix that

Take it back off, Buy a helicoil set. Basically.. Drill the hole out, tap it out to a bigger size. insert the heicoil(which reduces it to the size of the bolt.. A good heicoil set will have the drill bit, helicoils, tap, and the tool to insert the helicoil. Put down rags to catch the metal shavings while drilling and tapping. Then clean the tapped hole(Brake clean and blow it out with air) and use thread lock on the helicoil. Make sure the helicoil sets down below the surface..

What is the best method for changing the lower ball joint/control arm on a 2004 ford freestar?

The lower ball joint original is riveted into the lower control arm. If you can get to the lower control arm with a drill then the rivets can be drilled out and the joint removed . I find it quicker to remove the lower arm and do the job in a vice on the bench. Replacement ball joints will come with grade 8 bolts ( auto engineering quality) and will simply bolt into place using the holes for the rivets. So the procedure will be to jack the vehicle and place securely on jack stands. remove the wheel, remove the ball joint nut and using a ball joint removing tool drive the ball joint taper out of the support arm ( strut) Remove the inner pivot bolt ( remember to note the position of the lock washer as it is encentric and alters the wheel alignment) put the arm in a vice and carry on.

The right side front passenger lower control bolt is slipping how to fix the loose bolt on 1997 cherovlet calaiver

if its the bolt that attaches to the spindle thats the lower ball joint u will need to jack up and support vehicle remove the wheel you will need to support control arm with a jack and decompress spring and chain or secure for safety reasons so it doesnt shoot out and cause injury cut or drill out the 4 rivets that hold the ball joint in place [if it is a pressed one will need to buy or a lot of auto stores will let you borrow a ball joint press]replace with new done ---if the bolt is the one attached to the frame need to do same set up and remove old and replace but the bushings are what will slow u down a bit while replacing

How to fix a stripped oil pan

The easiest way is to find a larger diameter plug and re-tap the hole to fit it. This will require drilling out the hole to the correct tapping diameter and use a tap that matches the new plug to re-tap the hole. Or if you have or know someone with thread inserts that match your original plug, you could drill and re-tap the hole for the thread insert.

My alternator bolt broke that hold it to the engine what do i do

remove the alternator and if there is enough of the bolt take a pair of vise grips lock them down tight and remove bolt, if it is a clean break you have a few options:

1) get a set of easy outs, drill a hole and use an easy out to exact broken bolt

2) get an oversize self tapping bolt (a size bigger then the bolt that broke off, drill the bolt out completely and then tap the new bolt

Good Luck Tim

Stripped transmission holes . leaky pan etc. cannot tighten pan. what can i do?jetta 1998 2.0 auto ...

Take one of the bolts and go to the auto parts store and get a "Heli Coil" kit. It comes with everything you need to replace those threads. All you need is an electric drill. The kit is about $45 and includes the drill bit, tap and several coils. Instructions are included.
Measure the length of the bolt and wrap several layers of tape around the drill bit at that distance. When the tape gets to metal, stop and go on to the next hole. That way you don't drill in too far. I've used a small open end wrench to turn the tap in. Tape the tap as well and turn it in until it stops. Use a small open end wrench and turn it in 1/4 turn, back out to break the piece you just cut and repeat until you get to the tape . Any attempts to turn past the tape will probably not be easy. This means you have hit the bottom of the hole you drilled. Then simply load the coil in the tool and screw it it. You're done (about 5 min) per hole. Hope this helps.
