Where is the knock sensor for my 96 isuzu rodeo v6

YAEEH (yet another easter egg hunt)
why do you ask. scan it and it has DTC for knock? nah, bet not.
be best to scan it, no?

usa RODEO.
GM V6 engine with their own 3.2-liter 24-valve SOHC V6
LG6 , i think ended in 1992.
or
3.2 L 6VD1/6VD1W V6 (bingo)?

YAEEH
ill toss coin, land on 6vd1

some dont have a knock sensor. the 2.6L does.
the 1998 6vd1 has one, but not 96, in usa.

I even looked at your ECU/CPM schematic,
for the V6, and it shows, no knock sensor,(usa spec car)
The EFI spark system used on your car dictates this.
as knock (KS) controls spark timing, (retards it at knock)
but some versions have no KS sensor.

if fitted its on the block top.
has 1 wire. and screws in on a simple stud .
some are under intake manifold
its just a threaded shallow hole in block,
its only a microphone device.
here is the block a real photo.
some have it , others, dont
and one more fact, it came 92 and went and came.98
facts.

clear? see red circle below?

How do I bypass a knock sensor on a 2000 Nissan frontier

The pcm uses the knock sensor to monitor for engine knocking, and adjusts ignition timing based on this. If there is no knock sensor present, you will wind up with a hard fault that will keep the check engine lamp on continuously. Also, the truck will go into a more conservative driving mode to prevent knocking.
The knock sensor for a frontier is not terribly expensive, but it is a pain to access on nissan v6s, under the intake manifold

Hi, recently after my last oil change i noticed that the engine on my 1999 ford escort has a knocking or pinging sound when i start or if idle for a few minutes it seems to stop while driving any...

First---Make sure your oil level is where it needs to be. If your car is driving fine and has no loss of power, then you probably have a defective knock sensor. It's hard to determine without more info on your vehicle, like mileage, compression, and oil pressure if your engine is "going bad"

O2 sensors and knock sensor are they important? just came from autozone where thry did that code reader thing and it came up o2 and knock sensors, am i screwed or is this a small problem

depends on where you live. If you live in a state/county that does emission testing on your car each year then you should probably fix it before your next test. Otherwise you risk being caught with an out of date inspection sticker. The ticket itself is pretty expensive. If you don't have to get your car inspected then you don't have to worry about that aspect but then your car may not get very good gas mileage as the engine computer is without the oxygen sensor input and the engine knock sensor. This means the computer will operate in a degraded mode and will probably default to a rich running condition (O2 sensor) as well as not advancing the engine timing as much (knock sensor). Both of these conditions are less than ideal and will cost you power and fuel economy. So...you will pay for these problems, either up front in parts costs or in the long term in increased fuel costs.

Service engine light

Your not going to here any knock from the engine the knock sensor detects detonation which is not detectable with the human ear. if you want to test the knock sensor you can tap the side of the block the engine should stumble for a couple of seconds if it does not change then the way the engine runs then the knock sensor is defective or hase buildup iside the engine and you will need to do a top engine clean. if you want instructions on how to do this just post another post to this reply This happens on engines that ave high mileage or acar that runs low grade like regular.

Service engine light on. when checked i get a code that says "knock sensor" and another that says "specific DTC". i need to know what to do about this since i dont know what these codes mean.

Knock sensor codes are very common on Nissan vehicles. This in fact will not set and engine light the onlyway you'll notice it is if the vehicle is scanned and other codes along with the knock sensor code are stored. Can you provide the actual codes that you came up with inorder to help you better.
