SOURCE: My Buick Century with a 2.5L is stalling at lights

The TCC solenoid in the transmission needs to be replaced. This is a common problem that requires removal of the side cover of the transmission. You can unplug the wires at the front of the transmission and drive it until you get it fixed but you will not have over- drive lock- up convertor. This will result a drop in fuel mileage,

SOURCE: 97 buick century sputtering and stalling

He has gotten a bad load of fuel. Try a can of dry gas to emulsify the water, but if there is too much for the dry gas to handle, the tank may have to be cleaned. I would also replace the fuel filter also, the gas may also be dirty enough to restrict the filter.

SOURCE: 96 Buick Century stalls....

I spent endless time on this same problem on my 1992 Wagon. I changed out the computer but no help. It turned out to be the top dead center crank sensor that tells the system when the crank passes TDC. It is a small magnet essentially about the siz of a pencil eraser in the flywheel. it was cracked and occasionally would not "sense" and the car would just quit. troubleshooting was a nightmare because the computer diagnostics on the 1992 are less capable than the 1996 model. Anyway that is a relatively inexpensive fix and easy to know if it worked. Let me know how you solve this.

My 1993 buick century stalls when i stop at a light or stop sign after i restart it it backfires multiple time before i can gain speed

I have a feeling your fuel pump is on its way out...but start by changing your fuel filter first, should be under $20....ie..not enough fuel getting through..

Engine stalls when put in gear

It's the shift interrupt switch. The switch is probably fine, the mechanism isn't working properly. Probably one of the worst designs ever. This switch momentarily stalls the engine to allow the shift to happen. The problem is the "momentarily" part. There is now an electronic upgrade that is supposed to fix it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My car is having trouble starting (getting gas).

this seems like a temperature sensor failure. if you have a repair manual, you can find the temp sensors and check the for resistance with respect to temperature. the procedure is in the manual. removal will be required.

Transmission ?

The TCC solonoid is bad I have changed hundred of these there is a square coector of the front side of the transmission, this is the connector for the TCC ( torque converter Clutch) it has a tab lock put your finger nale under the tab or a smal screwdriver and lift gently and pull the connector off the car will now drive when you put it in gear but NOT have 4th gear and theck engine light may come on you should get this fixed as soon as possible you have to take off the side transmission cover the TCC is in there only buy one directly from the GM dealer no one else trust me on this, and also change te transmissin filter and gasket while your there.
if this information is good plese give me a fixya!
Thanks and if you need more help contact me but here look at my website go to the BLOG and FAQ you will see the TCC jobs I hve done and the outcome
