I have a1991 Regal that starts fine and will run and then just die after acouple of miles and then i wait a few minutes and it will restart but die again. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

you have either a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump, try the fuel filter first its chaeaper and easier than the fuel pump and you should replace it every 5 years on most cars anyway.

Where is the Fuel Filter on a '98 ford taurs? please I'm thinking that because my car has no power when i'm driving on the highways

The fuel filter is located under the car on the passenger side right in front of the passenger rear wheel.

Remove the plastic retainers that hold the fuel line to the fuel filter. They will break but the new filter will come with new ones. Pay attention to how the old clips are positioned in the fuel line. They only work one way.

The fuel line will be under pressure. Wrap the line with a rag before pulling off to prevent fuel from spraying all over.

Once the lines are disconnected loosen the clamp with a 5/16 socket.

An extremely plugged fuel filter will usually cause a poor acceleration symptom. It is rare for this to occur so a new fuel filter may not solve the problem but is not a bad idea.

If you can describe the symptom with a little more detail I would be happy to help you further or present some other possibilities.

Also, is the check engine light on? If it is do you know what codes are present?

Would a bad fuel filter cause the engine light to come on and also make my car run rough

A bad fuel filter can make the engine run rough, but by itself it won't make the check engine light to come on. It may have caused other symptoms and that's what is making the light come on.

I am having problems getting fuel to my carberator on my 1985. F-250 4wd. (mfrd 11-84) 7.5 liter gas, dual tank. The engine will start for several seconds & then stall out as tho the fuel is cut...

there is a electronic switching device underneath on frame that switches from tank to tank check that to see if it is bad.
I have had them go bad in the past and had to temporarily hook up electric fuel pump to pump from 1 gas tank to get home.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2005 Nissan Altima.....also, what are the symptoms of a bad filter or pump?

The fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump on a 2005 nissan altima. The fuel pump is under the back seat. You must remove the bottom cushion on the driver side. Before removing the fuel pump you must remove the negative battery cable and relieve fuel pressure. trouble with filters hesitation in starts could be some bogging and when acceleration poor fuel output but it depends on what ur car is doing?some of these same symptoms could be duel to idle air conrol valve controls idle and hesitation in acceleration

Usually plugged fuel filters and/or bad pumps cause loss of power at the high end (full throttle) when you are sucking down the fuel not so much at the low end.

Rough idles can be a lot of things, usually something to do with the fuel mixture or timings. Dirty injectors, distributor problems, streatched out timing chain/belts... those are a few common rough idle issues.

Has the fuel economy gone down? Does it still have good acceleration?
