Question about 2000 Ford Focus
I rebuilt my transmission but I have the same problem, the mechanic who rebuilt the transmission said we needed to fixing code 1120 to the transmission working fine we changed pts and the problem continue can you help me what other problem my car have? thank
Sorry your rebuilt trans did not fix your problem P1120 is TPS out of range The throttle position sensor responds to the gas pedal movement . of speed and angle it is moved Most sensors are 3 wired which has a supplied voltage of 5 volts and a ground and a signal return voltage this signal starts around .5 volts closed throttle plate and slowly works to 5 volts at full open position with a volt meter test the return signal while operating the throttle plate (engine off key on) look for glitches is voltage span go slow if this test fine check at computer the wire can be broken somewhere.
