Please take a good look at the display, it may work.
Often there's only yhe backlight of the display which doesn't work.
You only have to replace some small lamps behind the display module.

Kind regards,

SOURCE: 328i BMW, and the EML light is on

Sometimes you can reset the engine warning light by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes or more (be sure you have your stereo unlock code if needed).
That is not a good solution, it is better to diagnose and eventually fix the problem.
Have the car computer scanned with a code reader, the codes you get in return witll tell you exactly where to find the problem.

Here is the code list.

To get the codes the code reader must be connected to the car computer.

sometimes on Bmw you may need a Interface 16 pin Adapter, depending on the code reader.

Here is a home user code reader : PocketScan™ OBD II Code Reader (AXRCP9125 ...

Here is a good scaner.

Always better having the job done at a qualified garage.

How can I reset the crankshaft position sensor on BMW 328i 2008

If you have replaced it and it is working correctly, you can just erase the code or wait for it to shut off once you have driven it for a few miles. if you erased / reset it and it comes back, there is still a fault.

2007 bmw 328i water pump problem

If it has an electric pump you should hear or see water flowing when car is turned on. If not, check any fuses or relays for the pump, and there is probably temp sensor controlling the pump. The main thing is to make sure any fuses and relays are working before tearing the pump out.

2007 bmw 328i water pump problem

If test gauges were hooked up to it after the light went ON then there may be a Diagnostic Code to identify the Electric water pump as the problem. Check out the site for any consumer complaints about your Brand and Year of car.

If there is no info there, it is not a freqent problem. But if it is listed, so are Resolutions. Another site which may help, if they list your Foreigncar, is You register your car for free and then access the wiring diagrams and the Fusebox and Relay Layouts.

You may simple have a bad Electric water pump Relay. The Relay is triggered by a Temperature sensor. Often there are 2 sensors with the other operating the dash gauge. Just unplug the suspected sensor to see if it controls the dash gauge and once identified, replace the correct sensor.

Another area is the Cooling Fan. You should have a Engine cooling fan around the Radiator. This works with temperature and Relays. Sometimes the fan has 2 speeds and one can lose the high speed or booster fan settings. The Fusebox and wiring Diagrams will help to identify these parts.

If your trouble lamp is on, sometimes Scanners at Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys can identify the problem. It is FREE to scan at these stores.

I hope my solution is helpful.

Reverse gone in BMW 328i

I'm assuming you have an auto transmission, if you do, then if you are lucky changing your transmission oil might do the trick.

If you want to try this, then you simply need to change your transmission oil drive the car for a few hundred miles and change the oil again, this has in some cases solved the problem but its not guranteed.
