Question about 2000 Ford Focus
I have a 2003 ford focus. Ford states the alternator is overcharging. The gauges get pegged low light then I loose all lighting along with the display with the speedometer. The battery light goes on and off then the overcharging kicks in. I changed the alternator three times no change. I changed the battery no change. There is a clicking the steering column. I assume it is a relay switch. Can you help.
Check your battery ground connections. Make sure the vehicle chassis (and alternator) is properly grounded.
Check for any loose connections around the main high current 12V supply fuses.
Check the clicking in the steering column is not a loose supply wire arcing.
