The anti-theft system won't allow it to start . You replaced parts without knowing what would happen . The key has a transponder is the head of the key . The module that controls anti-theft doesn't see the transponder code an locked up the vehicle . Your best bet ,have it towed to a qualified repair shop . You don't have the tools or knowledge to fix it .

SOURCE: 2004 Chrsyler Pacifica Won't Start

2 possible problem come to mind:

  • Bad ignition switch; faulty switch will occasionally make contact but not every time
  • Bad starter; less likely but possible; a bad starter will function when it's cold but when it heats up, takes much more power to make it work
I hope this helps with your problem and wish you the best of luck. Take care!

SOURCE: Key stuck in the ignition. Position indicator

Hi there,
try turning the wheel to the right/left while turning the key in the ignition. You have to apply some force. Your car is probably outliving its road life.

SOURCE: 2000 Chrysler T&C Ignition Switch Locks up

I used a combination of the above on my 2003 Town and Country but I did it the easy way. I simply placed a screwdriver in the ignition where the key goes and I tapped the screwdriver with a hammer (LIGHTLY). Apparently, this freed the stuck pins and everything works fine now. I then sprayed WD40 into the ignition so it will, hopefully, not stick again.

How to know if pcm is bad

The PCM would probably not keep the engine from cranking. If the check engine light does not come on when you turn the key switch on, I would check to see if all of the fuses are getting power from the key switch first.
Could be a problem with the key switch.

Possible solution - This happened to me and my battery was dead in my key fob and also I needed an ignition switch because a piece on it was broken which therefore wouldn't turn to start the engine.

My 2004 jeep liberty stopped running two fridays ago. my mother was driving it, went into her insurance place and left my 13 y/o son in the car with the car running and a/c on. about 8 minutes into that...

I would get the battery checked, even new ones can be bad, I had a Bosch that went bad after 5 months.
Get the codes read, my 2003 Liberty recently had a problem starting also, thought it was the fuel pump or filter, code came back as the Crankshaft position sensor being faulty, could be a sensor giving you trouble, mine would start right away once it got warm.
When it comes to sensors there is not a lot of difference between making the circuit complete and not.

Hope this helps!
Cheers

Unable to unlock ignition switch

Did you park on a hill or in a tight parking spot with your steering wheel cranked to one side?
Try turning the steering wheel (will be very hard to do) as you put the key in the ignition and try to turn the key on, if that doesn't work, try turning the wheel the other way while turning on the key.

Jeep liberty 2002.....ignition key lock

Most commonly it is the key is worn out. If you have a spare key or your current one is not too badly worn, have a copy of it made and try it in the switch. You will have to have the copy key "coded" so it will disable the anti-theft system in order for the engine to start. If the new key doesn't fix your problem, you will have to replace the tumbler assembly.

My ignition will not turn at all. I tried turning the steering wheel to unlock it, but the steering wheel will not turn either. I don't know what the deal is. I have a 2004 F-150 truck. Any help would be...

is it a chip key or old style? If it is a chip key try taking it off the key ring and try it or flip the key. Try the extra key that you should have. If that works then your problem is with the first key. Our Oddyssy does this intermittently and I think its my wifes keychain.
