Question about 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck
Engine will idle in park and neutral, but dies when put into gear. Was sputtering like it's not getting fuel when fuel level was low. Put fuel in it, ran better. Parked it, then a couple hours later tried to use it then it died when put into gear. It starts right back up, but dies again when put into gear.
There are a few possibility on this one. If you run it out of gas or really low on gas you could of sucked junk up from the bottom of the tank and you will need to replace your fuel filter. Another is that your fuel pump us going bad and you would need to check the pressure. Your throttle position sensor may have gone bad. Your idle control valve is another. Your map sensor or mas sensor could be bad

Sounds like idle speed motor may need cleaning, or replace. Doesn't cost more than $5-$10 for a can of throttle body cleaner, and some time, to pull it off & clean & retry before spending too much on other areas. Tuned up, and fuel filter changed lately?
