Question about 2004 Mazda MPV
Not blowing out heat
Have you checked the cooling system to see if it is full ? Are the heater hoses getting hot after driving for a few miles ?

I think you may need to replace the thermostat.

The heater lines that run to the back of the right rear side gets rusty and start to leak anti-freeze. There is a black cover under and above the RR tire that has to be removed so u can see.

cabin airfilter definately helped clean the air and a noticable change in tempearature but its still doesnt get hot quick enough in very cold temperature. I guess I will try the thermostat change next. Thanks for your help. I will come back with updates.

You probably never cleaned the cooling system out.
If you have not get it done by pros.
It seems something is blocking the flow. If the water pump went bad you will know. Rarely ever heard a impeller breaks off like you think. The bearings and the seal break first.
Check and see also if the heater valve is working.
As for the over heating even new thermostats fail. Reverse flush is needed or the procan measure the pressure in the radiator cooling system and edetermine if there is a engine pressure problem. Tools and experience is the key in the game of diagnosis.
