Ihave a 98 gmc jimmy that the wiper motor transmission was broken. We are replacing it with one from the salvage yard...and need to know if there is anything other than the plastic cap to go over where it attaches to the motor...all this one has is a white nylon cap..is it missing something.

Unusual question. I have never seen a spec for this. Best bet would be to try a salvage yard for a similar trans and either measure theirs, or buy one if yours is lost or broken.. Dealer might be able to give length if you really must know.

Washer fluid not spraying

Yes, the motor is probably on the bottom of the washer reservoir. It should be on a fused circuit, but the fuse might have other applications, might even be on the wiper fuse. Pull off the connector to the washer motor and check for power with key on and washer switch held on. If power is getting to motor, probably a bad motor. Try one from a salvage yard.

Your search should be for a replacement wiper linkage assembly...this is one unit...Your best bet would be your local salvage yard...the internet salvage yards are also helpful...they will pull the part, and ship to you...Hope this helps.

Can I put a 1991 Chevy Blazer LT Automatic Transmission into a 1993 GMC Jimmy that had a automatic Transmission in it as well-- Please help. ???????

well you have to do some research but I believe 1992 was the changeover from non electronic to electronic controlled trans. the best way I have found to figure this out for vehicle to vehicle interchange is to call a salvage yard and the are very good at this because the have to know to sell parts effectively. Hope this helps.

Driver side wiper doesn't work ...will move freely by hand

The part that works the wiper blades is called a wiper transmission. Depending how the arms are attached under the cowling, you may need to replace it as 1 piece for both sides. You need to remove the wiper motor and disconnect it from the wiper transmission. When you have this assembly pulled down far enough to see where the arms are attached, you will know if it threw a clip or if a riveted piece came off.

If it is made like the main mount for the wiper motor, you would just need a clip. It could also have come loose from the wiper stub end next to the glass. Unless you go to a Salvage yard, it might take a day to get an aftermarket or Dealer part for this. You might be able to see a picture of this part before ordering it.

!998 taurus windshield wiper on the drivers side moves but is out of cink with the passenger side and can hold it still when passenger side is running. something with mechanism.

Your wiper transmission is bad or disconnected. The part with the arms that are moving under the windshield cowling is called a wiper transmission. The main connection to these arms is a pin on the wiper motor which has a clip. The cowling is the area directly under the windshield. You may be able to unscrew the cowling and remove it to access the shaft arms on the wiper transmission.

You may need to remove the wiper motor to get at the clip on the motor. Then each arm is mounted to the base of the cowling. These are the stubs which the wiper arms attach to. Usually the shaft arms are a permanent part of the piece which fits over the motor. But is worth a look at what broke to see how it used to be attached.

If the transmission arms were in a pressed-on fitting, you will either have to replace it or improvise a new connection. The connection will have to be secure, yet not drag on the wiper, and not make noise. That kinda makes a new part or Salvage yard part your options.

By going to a Salvage yard first, you will learn how the part comes off. Gather extra screws for the ones you may drop reinstalling the part. And if you break something on the Salvage car, you will know better when you work on yours.

I hope you found this solution helpful.

There was heavy snow on the windshield,i turned the wiper blades on and something popped, the wiper motor still works but the wipers dont, can you help?

Most wippers just pop the nuts free (unscrews them backwards when this happens). Life the cap over the nuts and tighten them with a wrench.

I have a 1999 Jimmy and the rear wiper does not operate well.

It's a one hour repair, not too difficult. These things get locked up by turbulent water/salt spray behind the vehicle leaking internally into the gears, corroding and binding them up. AFter two replacements, gave up. Wipers can't really keep up with the spray seems anyway. Daughter helped out, rolled and totaled it (unhurt) after I pretty much had the thing running great. You can buy the wiper motor on Ebay, but make sure they vow that it works, most all the salvage have the same problem. Make sure they will stand behind it.
