Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Power windows and overhead lights/radio will not dim on2004 jeep

Everything was operatiing correctly when we got out of the vehicle to go into the shopping center. Aprox 20 min we got back into the Jeep, the power windows would not go down, nor would the lamp dimming switch that is on the column work. Anyn ideas?
We did check the safety window lock that is on the driver door.

Sounds like the body control module.. you are going to have to take it to a Jeep dealer..they have to program it for your jeep..

Its not going to cost you and arm and a leg...couple fingers maybe..but no arms and legs. Seriously though, its not that expensive.. and those things go out ALL THE TIME.. probably top 5 as far as jeep problems are concerned.

2011 Jeep liberty, wife said her lights on the radio are not working, said she can not see the clock light or stations , but radio still works? I don't think it's a fuse if the radio still plays.

The lights on the radio are dimmed with the instrument panel dimmer control so usually they are fed with a separate 12 volt signal that is separate from the main radio power. It may have a separate fuse but may not. If it's not a fuse it could be a loose connector going to the radio, assuming the rest of the instrument panel lights are working correctly. I suppose it is also possible that the dimmer control has two sections, one for the radio and one for the panel lights, and the section for the radio is bad. Run the dimmer control back and forth stop to stop a few times, push on it etc. to see if that effects it. I suspect it is somewhere in the dimmer circuit.

When i open the door of my 1994 jeep grand Cherokee the illumination relay clicks repeatedly the radio does not work and the information center does not work

I would try finding all the ground wires on the vehicle and cleaning them to make sure they are getting a good ground. 12 volt systems are very sensitive to bad grounds. I seriously doubt that turning on the light had anything to do with it, but a bad ground could give low voltage to the radio, relays, etc. and make them turn on and off. The more things you turn on the more the bad connection will give problems. I hope this helps.

ill pretend yes......
blown fuse. what else could cause so many things, to lose DC power.
>?
a fuse can be good, bad or intermittent , even corroded,
a tech would scratch head and pick the easiest fault to fix.
my guess, is
dashboard doesnt work means the guages , and idiot lamps are dead but the park lamps there (dimmable) do work.
so what fuse is that.? i say to self.....
I open the FSM. and look at the power cluster feed.
what do i see.?

i look in instruments page. (aka. cluster)
tells you how it works
then i jump wiring page 8w-40-2
i see what, Fuse 10. is it good? and fuse 17.
fuse 10 is key on,, and fuse 17, is hot full time.

thats it, if the cluster is dead, only fuses can kill it 100% dead
or it losts its main ground, which is unlikely but voltmeter proves
in 1min flat. (G201)

i picked right, the cluster dead, is the most simple
if Headlights are dead, its most simple (not in Canada with DRL)

bingo?

What is the wireing colors for the radio in a 92 jeep cherokee larado

All vehicles wiring is the same.

To do it right make sure you buy a wiring adapter so you don't have to cut your factory wiring plug off. Below is a wiring picture. Not all the wires in be required to hook up because some vehicles don't use them.

Blue/White (Remote Turn on): Used if sub woofer and amp system is being installed

Orange (illumination): Not every vehicle has this .. This is used to dim the radio when the head lights get turned on its own.

Blue (Power Antenna): Only used if you have one

I believe it's one of your relays too. There are a few relays under the glove box. If you can determine which one is clicking you can change it out and possibly solve your problem. Good luck...
