Bad cell inside battery,so it won;t hold the charge,if battery checked OK,it might be a bad bridge (three diode inside alternator, change AC to DC) in your alternator

SOURCE: 2001 chevy silverado 1500 v8 battery drain after sits for 1or2day

, do a simple test on the charging system...check battery voltage. should be 12v or better. start engine & check volts at idle, no accessories on. volts should read 13.5 -14v. Turn on all accessories(including headlamps on high) volts should drop slightly but should not creep down. Definitely not below 12.5. If voltage drops lower than 12.5, the regulator (in the alternator) is not working. either change regulator or change entire alternator. Alternator drive belt should have sufficient tension so that alternator cannot be turned easily by hand. If it can, check belt tensioner.

SOURCE: 2004 Taurus. Will not start at intermittent

I have the same car but don't have that problem with this one however, I did with the 99 I traded for this one. I figured out that if the wheels were not left straight, any degree of angle facing either direction, would freeze something in the steering column and not allow it to start. Had it towed twice before the tech said he had the same problem in the past. Never happened after that. The prob I had with the 2004 Taurus, bought a cheap battery from wal-mart and it ran everything but my car, tech said it's probably the reason the alternator had failed. Check your brand of battery. My battery light stayed on for two months, started fine, switched the battery from the wal-mart one, light went off instantly.

SOURCE: glow plug system will not cycle

Do you have dual fuel tanks? Place the return fuel line from the back of the fuel pump in a bucket and see if it will start. If yes replace the fuel tank switching valve. It may switch supply side ok, but not return side and if so it is plugging the return, which will cause a no start stuation. If it starts running the return line into a bucket replace the switching valve.

Truck runs and starts fine when warmed up but is difficult to start after sitting for a few days must be turned over 5 or 6 times possible reasons?

Fuel is draining out of the fuel lines back into the tank. When you turn the key on you should let it sit for 10 or 15 seconds to let the fuel pressure build back up in the lines, then turn it to start it.

1993 ranger supercab charging guage remains high all the time. When not started for a few days the battery will die.

Seems that you have a power drain. If you installed any electronics check to see if the wire has an open section that is bleeding the system.
Check to make sure that when the glove box closes the light in side goes off. A sprung glove door will keep the light on and will drain a battery in about 3 days.
If you put a trailer hitch on the truck make sure that the grounding is done correctly. Lighting harness to trailer, trailer to truck. A poor ground will cause the electrical leak and drain the battery if the trailer in attached for a few day, less than 3.

Battery will not stay charged and the battery is brand new .

You have a drain somewhere in the truck or a bad battery. Take the battery to an autoparts store and have them test it for free. If the battery is good, you have a drain. Make sure you aren't leaving anything plugged in to the power outlets. Most GM outlet are constant and will still draw power if you leave cellphone/accessories plugged in.

A power drain in the truck. You would need to remove the fuses until the drain stops, then check the circuit for that fuse.

Battery keeps draining already put in a brand new alletantor and brattery still draining and battery lights comes on and truck won't start

You would have checked the charging system before replacing the alternator, so I will assume the charging system is good.
If the battery is being discharged overnight or over a few days, you would need to disconnect it and check every circuit on the truck to find the drain.

2003 chevy tahoe won't start if it has been sitting for a few days. it will start fine if it has been running the same day, otherwise it takes over 10 tries to start. just changed the fuel filter and the...

The problem is the fuel pump. The fuel pump assembly located in the fuel tank has a one way check valve in it. This check valve either jams or wheres out and then the fuel drains back into the tank after sitting for a period of time and makes the truck almost impossible to start. If the truck runs fine once it is started then this is your problem. To verify the problem purchase a fuel pressure gauge kit and connect it to the fuel rail, turn the key to the on position but do not start it the pressure shopul read around 56 PSI or more. Turn the ignition off and let the truck sit for approx 2 to 3 hours and recheck the pressure gauge if it has dropped then the check valve is no good and you have to replace your fuel pump.
