How to remove the fuel tank of mercedes 1994 c230 and fix the fuel gauge please tell me , its showing empty the tank but full of petrol, i want to remove the gauge and change or clean it.

The official repair time for replacing the fuel tank is almost seven hours but the given time for replacing the fuel level sensor is less than two hours so it would seem it is not necessary to remove the fuel tank, though it could be necessary to lower it a little.

I suggest you obtain model-specific repair information for your model. There might be access through the body after removing the rear seat cushion, for instance.

Good luck!

Remove dash to access the gauges for cleaning faces

You just have to figure out how to remove everything necessary from the front of the dash, so you can actually get at the gauges.

It's just the trim piece first, plastic clips or screws. Now remember,if you were trying to remove the dash cluster, it would come out just the same way. You just need to get to it, not remove it. t should be pretty easy to figure out. Phillips head and/or 1/4 inch head sockets for screws and small bolts. Some are 5/16ths.

You need to get that needle over the pin. Remove the cluster face and manually do that.

The instrument panel 1996 mercedes benz e320 does not work. the gas gauge, , speedometer, temperature, and oil gauge do not work bu sometime they work what it can be

there is a scart lead type conector on the back of the instrament cluster its probably worked loose if not this is it just the needles sticking i have a 1994 c180 and mine does this it suposed to be caused by static build up on the needle and the small post it sits on i have tryed every thing in the end i scraped off the paint on the small posts and its not as bad as it was another common fault

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue, and the fuel gauge needle is stuck behind the peg at the FULL mark. I noticed it after my battery went dead.

you will have to remove the cluster and dis-assemble to reset the needle, or you can drill a small hole in the plastic and go in with a paper clip and move the needle back to place, in some instances i have found it damaged the gauge, and had to replace the entire unit

Fuel Gauge spun around in opposite direction. The electronic display still shows the mileage remaining. What could the problem be???

It will take about 30 min to fix. Well that's how long it took me to reapair my 2006 SL. First remove the 3 screws from the shroud around your column they are under your column. Make sure your column is extended and in its lowest position. Second remove the 3 trim pieces on top of the cluster by using a flat blade screwdriver be careful not to damage your dash. Third remove the single screw on top of the cluster and the two that are underneath. Fourth release the tabs that hold the bezel around your cluster. Fifth each lens can then be removed exposing the gauge face and needles. Sixth gently move the needle counter clockwise until it rest on top of the needle stop. Seventh try to remember how it all goes back together haha. No really it is a piece of cake 30 to 40 min versus the 2 hour quote from my local Nissan dealer.
