SOURCE: mitsubishi outlander cooling fans not operating

There is a Recall to replace your cooling fan module because of this concern.

Open your hood and look at the black box bolted to your radiator fan by the battery. If it does not have a green dot on it, you have not had the replacement fan module installed.

Contact your local dealer with your VIN handy to verify the recall has not been done and to schedule an appointment.

If the recall has been done, verify if you have power coming out of the module to the fans, as the fans do burn out eventually.... but rarely both at once.

SOURCE: At what mileage should I change the timing belt on

It is suggested by any mechcanic to perform this maintenace every 80,000 miles if you properbly maintain your vehicle. That mean going by the owners manual suggestions. Also I would highly recomend changing the water pum as well for it runs off this belt and water pumps only last as long as the belt will also. If a new belt is installed without a new water pump it may fail in no time. I seen it happen more than a dozen times in the past ten years

SOURCE: The outlander has no fuel filter and its a part of

Fuel pumps are not a regular maintenance item that needs to be changed at a certain time. Replace it only when it fails. The designers built that fuel filter into the tank with the reasoning that it will last as long as the fuel pump itself.

My Mitsubishi Outlander 2004 has a tendency of jerking especially when climbing. Injectors and throttle have been served . What could be the problem. Some say it's the fuel pump. Please help

It could be a fueling problem like a weak pump or clogged fuel filter. The right way to check for that is to do a fuel pressure test. Many parts stores will rent or loan fuel pressure testers. If pressure is as specified by Mitsubishi, then you know the pump and filter is good, and the problem is somewhere else, possibly a Mass Airflow Sensor needs to be tested. Have you checked the air filter for being clean?

If unsure about the fuel pressure test, have a friend do it that knows how. It is easy, just connect the tester, turn key to on, not start, and check pressure. It should be at specification, then start engine and check pressure again. If both readings are correct, the pump and pressure regulator and filter are all okay. Here is a how-to:http://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator.

I have a 2004 outlander SUV Mitshuisi. I ran out of gas 5 feet from the gas pump so I coasted in to the pump put gas in now it will not start. Do you know what the problem is ?

probably needs to be primed. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for fuel pump to get fuel up to injectors. That or fuel filter is clogged, when you run the tank almost dry any sediment and dirt gets sucked into fuel pump.
