SOURCE: tire size

From a legal stanpoint? Do you have inspections that require stock equipment? Might want to be careful there.--other than that from a mechanical standpoint the outside diameter of the tire needs to be real close and honestly it sure sounds like youd be there. Maybe about ten milimeters off in total--but that would represent about 3 mile per hour difference in speedometer reading. not bad. Hope I helped. Thanks

SOURCE: tire size for a 96 cavalier

The factory recommended tire size is usually on a sticker on the drivers side door post and in the owners manual. This will keep the speedo calibration correct. If you are customizing the car then you need to go to a tire shop and work with them to determine what sizes will do what you want. You can buy different tire size rims with various offsets that allow for larger tires to be put on a vehicle. Hope this helps, RAC

SOURCE: mixing tire sizes

You can replace, but not mix. All the tires on the car needs to be the same size for traction control and ABS system. Having two different size tires on the car will cause problems. Just keep them all at the same size P215/60R15 or P205/65R15 only.

I just bought a 2001 Eclipse with 245-40Z-R18 Tires that are rubbing. This car also has race struts that are lowerd too compacity. Wats the issue?

Well if I know the correct stock tire size for a GT (215/50 17) your tire now is just over an inch wider. That along with being lowered can do it.

Hey I was wondering if you could please offer further advice on the 2004 S60 R tire/rim situation? I have 18's on there right now and they RUB LIKE CRAZY! and my 18 inch Volvo rims that I got...

Sounds like your Rims and Tires are too big. I'm surprised the place that sold them to you didn't tell you those wouldn't fit. Did they at least advise you that the larger tire will through your Speedometer off? If you change the Rim and Tire size you have to change the speed gear in the transmission in order to keep your speedometer accurate.

Will 235/70R/15 tires fit on a 91 ford taurus?

Thats a tall tire but it depends on the size tire/rims that are on it. I have a 91 taurus that has 14 inch rims, the only draw back on taller tires are the fender wells, make sure the tires do not rub the fenders. especially the front, if you put them on, turn the front wheels to the left, then check to feel or see that they do not rub. then turn wheels to the right and recheck for clearance. good luck, if the fit and clear.

I have the correct size tires on my 2004 S60R,

s60r not only has horrible turning radius but also has rubbing. Car has been poorly designed by Volvo. They even installed metal plate that your rub on when turning hard. Two ways to stop the rubbing is.install 5mm spacers or add washers on steering stops. Please visit swedespeed.com and R forum there for future support.

17" tires fitting my rims

If you change from the manufactures original tire size, not only will you have steering and handling problems but you will have problems with the performance of the van. The pcm makes thousands of calculations every second to keep the engine running at it's peak performance. These are based on everything remaining original (Tire Size). If you change the tire size it will alter everything the computer does. Including making your speedometer and odometer give you false readings. Your best bet is to stay with the original tires.

it should be what the door says... but make sure the door is showing the size of tires that are on the vehicle... tire pressures are usually determined by an engineer for that vehicle and tire size
Also what does the sideway of the tire say ?

New tires Suzuki XL-7 (2007)

245/65R17 is a much more popular size however it is generally(tire sizes are not uniform) about 1 to 1.5 inches bigger in diameter & about a half inch wider. This means you will need about an inch more clearance when the front wheels are max turned, left or right. Also allow for suspension bounce. As far as type of tire: first decide on your priorities (ie..max traction, smooth ride) & then the choice will be easy

Looking for a different tire for Suzuki XL7 (2007). Currently has the factory tires Bridgestone 235/60-17 which are a strange size. Need to know if a Cooper CTS 245/65-17 will rub the wheel wells?? Any...

I do not know for certain whether the larger tires will fit; but here is how you can check.

The 235/60-17 Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 II have a diameter of 28.3 inches, rim width of 7, section width of 9.3 and a tread width of 7.8. When compared to 245/65-17 Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 II the diameter(29.5) is 1.2 inches larger and the section width(9.8) is 0.5 inch larger. The rim width and tread width are the same. You would need to check existing clearances and then compare to the additional size required to verify fitment.
The above data is from TireRack (see web address below)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Bridgestone&model=Dueler+H%2FT+D684+II&tirePageLocQty=

Tire Rack carries 5 different tires from 3 brands(Bridgestone, BFG, and Kumho) in the 235/60-17 size at $66 to $119 each. I have bought many tires from them without a problem. They do not carry Cooper tires.
