Question about Mercedes-Benz E-Class
If cannot resolve, best case I can donate. Seems like a waste to junk for parts, as has so much life left in it. Bought car knowing it did not pass. Previous owner has amnesty from DMV, but DMV says has to pass for a title change. We only need it to pass for title change as our permanent home county requires no smog testing at all.
REGISTER THE CAR THERE THEN. WHAT IS THE CODE. P0421 OR P0431, P0420 OR P0430 ?? TELL ME.

SOURCE: emissions test failure
hi what is meant by driving cycles are when you drive the car in all conditions accelerating stoping idling its a full range of what anormall driving run if you change a battery what you need to do is drive it in as many situations as metioned above so your ecu will learn what to do take it for a run between 50-60 mph for 30 secs take your foot of the acclerator see if it stalls if so do it again if after 3-4 times it doesn,t run correctly there is a problem with the sensors but usually sorts itself out i have done a job on a car in the afternoon and it takes till the following afternoon before it has relearned its setting be carefull while driving as the car can be unpredicitable stalling idling to fast ect but if it was ok before you changed the battery it will be ok yates210456

SOURCE: failed emmisions test..
I am in Virginia but I believe you vehicle is showing a monitors not ready for Catalyst & Evap. If that is correct you need to basically drive the car a few days. The computer will remonitor itself and should be fine following that. Most drive cycles require highway driving & city driving. Make sure you turn on a/c as well. Its not how many miles you drive but what conditions you drive that sets you monitors. You could locate the drive cycle and attempt to replicate it but its usually very difficult drive exactly as the cycle asks. Good luck.

SOURCE: will not pass emissions test
the light is an emissions code in there sometimes its a oxygen sensor or the egr valve gets clogged in hondas...you need to retrieve the code to narrow the problem down

Once it runs all of the tests, its good to go. If you keep having that problem. someone is disconnecting the battery or resetting the computer or somehow the computer is losing memory. Have a shop check out why.
