and i just found something, the ring that attach the engine with the vacuum line was not really closed, and same for the ring that attach the vacuum line with black box of the vacuum. so i closed them very well the 2.

Erratic engine speeds is usually the result of a bad EGR valve.
Have them check that as well as the vacuum system for leaks.
EGR cannot be repaired - it must be replaced in whole.

If your RPM goes up some times that means you have a vacuum leak.
because it is a problem than comes and gos that means there is a broken hose on the side. remove the top plastic cover and if you wiggle the hoses going to the intake manifold whit the engine running then you will be able to hear the leak.

Try checking the vacuum lines,, when they heat up they could leak which will make it rev up with a leak and when it cools off they seal back together,, also the metering plate on the injectors could be leaking air

If you look around the air intake system there is a switch which controls the idle speed and many times it gets clogged with dirt.It is a very simple process of just cleaning them with a metal brush and the problem is sorted. However I would also suggest to have a computerised car diagnostic whenever the warning light goes on,just to make sure you have the right error code..look for digimolite on google which will cost you nothing to sort out the problem as long as you have ELM 327 cable..

Do you have an automatic transmission?

If the Check Engine Light (CEL) is ON, you more than likely have a sensor issue and need to have it repaired. The sensor could be the cause of the problem.

Have a great day!

not sure if it will make much difference but there are sensors on the trans that can be bad and you really have no way to tell it. or a wheel speed sensor or could even be a dirty clogged trans filter but I am leaning more towards the sensors. I can bet when they rebuilt the trans they just reused the same sensors and thats why you still have the same problem

92 toyota pickup, v6, 2wd. Stops running after 20 minutes at idle.

Then He did wrong. You are allowed 3 degrees out even 5 degrees. TPS replaced runs and quits. The way to adjust the TPS is to use a OHM meter till roating it gives no continuity.Leave alone for now, there is a idle up air control.on the throttle body its brass turn that 1/4 out and bring the RPM out. to 800RPM. When you moved the timing you also must set idle.To begin with the TPS was never the problem. Do the basic set timing, you also set RPM.

sounds like 3rd gear/clutch is worn.I don't think a service will do any good. But if you remove the pan and find debris you know you will need a trans in the near future.

Lately the brake light comes on for no apparent reason. Sometimes, it is right after a red light, & I've just accelerated. Any clue? Thanks!

Check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir (master cylinder). A slightly low level will set the light off as the fluid is being rushed backward during acceleration. When this fluid is rushed back, the level of fluid is probably dipping below the desired level therefore setting the light off.

Try checking the codes. You can do this at part stores like auto zone for free. It might be the maf sensor or if it says lean o2 sensor than it's the fuel filter.

Runing high rpm while in idle

First check for a loose hose or a vacuum leak. If you do not find a leak most likely the throttle position sensor is stuck and causing the truck to idle high. The throttle position sensor sticks, and if this happens you will need to replace it.
