Question about 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

I have 2001 Chevy blazer. I replaced the plugs, wires, air filter recently. And the fuel pump last year. and after a months running find it stated to not start. I have to use starting fluid to get it to start, and then it runs fine till i shut it off. And have to add starting fluid to get it going again. Any idea on what may be going on. I have run out of ideas to check. The check engine on show codes for the oxygen sensors needs check

The fuel filter is less then a year old. And if the injectors are bad it seem it would run rough or misfire when running. When it it running it will stay running with no problem until i shut it off again. Seems that these parts a ok.

Replace your fuel filter - locateted on the drive side next to the frame. If that doesn't cut it - check your injectors

If you mean the fuel filter then YES that could have vary likely been your problem .Its always good to change this these vehicles are known to have fuel pump issues and there a pain to replace and not cheap. Never let the tank run completely dry eighter you have a 2001 the pumps last 10 to 12 years at best so keep this in mind

This is beginning to look like a pervasive problem not unique to your vehicle. It would be interesting to learn exactly what failed inside the pumps you changed. I don't have any good answers yet but I would make a direct ground connection from the battery to the pump harness to eliminate any possibility of overheating of the pump motor from a poor ground, and see if it helps any. Also check all pump connections before you install it.
