Open your trunk with your keys, most 1989 and up have battery in trunk, or a lead to jumpstart is in compartment as well

Are you sure that you are using the correct key?
Did you recently separate/divorce from your partner/spouse?
Did the ex-spouse have the car "rekeyed", so that the "old" keys no longer work?

Did you recharge or replace the dead battery?

Bmw wont open the door & start

This is funny. How do you know that it wount srart if you can't open the doors? Ofcourse the battery can be dead, but it is wery common thst the bodymodule breaks. That's the reason for doors not opening. Usually. There is lots of info availeble, just goigle e46 bodymodule. Startingproblem is something I need more info about. Unless the problem is dead battery.

I have a 1998 728. The battery has gone flat and as a result neither the door or boot will open with the key. Have you any suggestions on how i can get in so I can charge the battery?

I am presuming if you are in the uk. One thing would be to contact AA or similar.
Have a chat with your local BMW garage they will be able to get in.
Also one good tip is to ring a locksmith they might know how to enter the car.
