Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

02 Chevy TB LS

I have a chevy TB LS and the problem I have is that when I turn on the car and the airconditioner the car will make this huge loud noise like a semi truck or even louder for like the first 3 or 4 mins then most of the times the noise fades out after that but sometimes it doesnt. Does anyone know why this is? Just needs some coolant maybe? It still blows cold air fine and stuff but the noise for the first 5 mins or so after you first turn it on is horrible!

Thanks

There is a lubricant that is added along with the refrigerant when an AC system is charged. The noise you hear might be the compressor starving for oil.

On a 2004 chevy tb ls 4x4, what is an air-spring? tu

It is a heavy duty rubber bladder that goes where the steel spring would go. It performs the same function as a regular spring but because it is air filled you can adjust the pressure which will change the ride height and load carrying abilities on demand

Many of the 6 cyl. engines are prone to carbon build-up in the throttle body. If this is the case, it is best to clean it off the car and is fairly easy to do. Remove the snorkel, 1 electric fitting on the throttle body (a little tricky) and one vacuum line on tb as well. Four bolts remove the tb from the engine and the throttle body can be cleaned with throttle body cleaner from any auto supply store. An o-ring attaches the tb to the engine so that you will not destroy a gasket during the repair. Pretty easy and should take less than 1 hour, but be careful of sharp edges in the throttle body.

Have a chevy 350 TB and it does fine in park but

Are you getting a check engien light on in your dash ?
You should have a OBD II reader plugged to retrieve any codes to help figure this out.
It could be about 6 different sensors ect.
Please let me know.

sounds like a possible wheel bearing issue or brake pad issue!!! i would definatly have this looked at, but in the meantime, make sure that it isnt just a backing plate contacting the rotor ...hope this was helpful!!
