Try going to your local Autozone store and ask them to check
your vehicle for emissions and other engine problems.
This is a free service. They will show you a print out of the probable causes of the problem you are having and the cost of the parts you need to fix your vehicle.

SOURCE: 2000 chrysler cirrus problems
I have the same problem with great shaking while stopped idling, but no engine light. It is worse when cold and worse when in gear. I have a 1999 Cirrus with the 2.4L engine. It works great and there are no error codes. What I have discovered is that there is something called a flex plate that goes between the torque converter and flywheel and it was cracked. It must be easy to access to inspect (more work to repair though) as the garage didn't charge me for the diagnosis. They said that the crankshaft rear seal was also pushing out. You can do both at the same time once you get it apart.

SOURCE: car shakes and check engine
You need to have an OBII scan done(fault scan) something failed and triggered computer. Any good parts store like Autozone, Advance, etc...can do the scan for you and FREE. The scan will identify what's troubling your car.

SOURCE: check engine light on and
I would say you have two different problem's, The Shake could be from your front end or tires. As for the oil light & check engine, If you oil level is ok This could be a number of things I would start with motor mount, This could also cause the vibration in steering. Have a frend to accelerate to a high speed and watch the motor and see how much it moves on you, If it has a lot of movement this is your problem. You can take to autozone or napa, And they will see if any codes are coming up and tell you if you need anything further With the oil lite and check engine. Good luck to you.

If the engine still runs this could be a broken engine mount. Easiest to check and fix. However it may be more serious internal engine damage. Sorry...
