SOURCE: Starting Problem

Look on the distributor. There is a module on it that, when too hot, will cause miss/stall/no re-start situations.

SOURCE: Cold weather starting 2000 Ford Ranger

I would check the Air Charge Sensor. This sensor measures the temp of the air charge going into the fuel injection system, when you truck is cold it requires more fuel and less air, if this sensor has gone bad it would lean out your fuel mixture as if the vehicle was already warm.

bad bearings on crank or worn oil pump. Pressure will be up when cold, but will drop when engine warms up. Check for knock in lower end. If so, bad crank bearings.

TC 212 & 214, hard to start but runs well after starting.

Possibly a Battery going bad, check your connections, if they are tight then you may need a new batter, if they are loose, then tighten them. (If the problem persists after tightening, have battery checked)
