My ignition won't lock. What will it cost for a new one?

The ignition lock cylinder or tumbler for a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix should not cost you any more then $25 dollars at a part store such as Auto Zone or Advanced Auto. If you actually need a whole new ignition switch that could run you as much as $150. Keep in mind that the lock cylinder and the ignition switch are two different things. I hope this helps.

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT - Blower Motor will not blow in the lower speeds, High Speed (5) only. Resistor has been replaced 3 times in the last twenty four hours, blower motor has been replaced twice in...

Your ignition switch is bogus. High speed runs directly off the speed control but the lower speeds go thru the ignition switch. Do not know why but that is the way it is!!!!!!!!
Replace the ignition switch and you will be back in business.

This sound like the blower motor relay(lo relay) is wired in to the head light switch voltage. You need to follow the wire from the blower relay (there should be 4 wires) thats hot when the ignition is on and make sure it goes to the blower motor. It sounds like a couple wires got switched.

2004 grand prix GT2, blower motor stays on weather engine is running or not.

Replace the relay. Look in your owners manual for the location of the relay panel.... should be under the hood near driver's side.

My 1998 Grand prix is not starting except when it wants to.

It was the alarm. Although we've never used it, somehow the switch was stuck on, and wasn't allowing us to start the car. it also burned out the ignition switch. Had to completely disable the alarm (removed it completely) and changed the ignition switch.

Key stays in ignition

if the key won't turn all the way off...it's probably a bad lock cylinder.
