Right in front of the vehicle under the hood, should be a routing diagram for your vehicle's belt. depending on the vehicle you may want to begin in th most difficult area to reach and work your way to a more forgiving area. when you get it most of the way on you will need to place the belt over the idler pulley. You may need a wrench or socket on a ratchet to tension the spring in the idler pulley and when you are doing that it makes the circumfrence of the entire pulley system smaller so it can go on. There may be a problem somewhere that caused the belt to come off. Make sure it isn't too loose and everything is tight.

Stuck drivers seat belt. is there a simple fix?

The simplest fix is to fit a new belt. Don't mess around with seat belts, your life is worth much, much more. Some manufacturers are starting to suggest a seat belt replacement after 3- 4 years.

How to fix belts on micra 2001 pulley

Fix a belt?

You replace all belts every 6 years, if they don't wear
out before

Pulleys you only replace if they fail, which is about one
in every 30 years

The belt tensioner may have to be replaced, if your so
unlucky or the crank dampers can wear & throw the belt
out of alignment & wear one side

TIMER BELT BREAKING

I am assuming you mean timing belt as these cars did not come stock with timer belts. You need to get a timing belt and fix it. Just hope that when the belt broke you did not bend any valves as that will be costly to fix.

ADJUSTMENT

Excessive belt tension will cause damage to the alternator and water pump pulley bearings, while, on the other hand, loose belt tension will produce slip and premature wear on the belt. Therefore, be sure to adjust the belt tension to the proper level.
To adjust the tension on a drive belt, loosen the adjusting bolt or fixing bolt locknut on the alternator, alternator bracket or tension pulley. Then move the alternator or turn the adjusting bolt to adjust belt tension. Once the desired value is reached, secure the bolt or locknut and recheck tension.

How to fix a belt that is making a loud noise on a 1994 Ford Taurus

If it is a loud squeaking sound, the belt is stretched out too far for the tensioning pulley to take up the slack. Check if the belt has grease or oil on it. If it does find the cause, fix the cause and then change the belt...there is no tension adjustment to be made,

Serpentine belt will come off everytime it gets wet from puddles or spilled fliuds. what is a solution.

Replacing the belt tensioner and the serpentine belt will fix that for good. A temporary fix will be to remove the belt and wash it with regular soap and water inside and out (also wipe clean the pulleys), let it dry and apply Belt Dressing to the inside of the belt, and reinstall it. This will give the belt more traction and hopefully keep it in place.
I think your belt is worn and the belt tensioner lost some of it's tension, but, if you don't want to spend $$, try the above fix, it may work for you.
Good Luck!!
A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

How to fix the serpintin belt

Replace the belt, dont fix the old one. use a breaker bar to lift up on the belt tension pulley. while holding it up slide off the belt from one of the other pulleys. ***Slowly release the tensioner.*** then remove the belt. replace with a new belt (the same size as the old one) put it on all the pulleys except the last one. lift the tensioner up then slide the belt over the last pulley. recheck all pulleys to see if belt is on all pulleys correctly. then start engine.

I have a 99 mitsubishi diamante and i broke the power steering belt how do i put it back on

Looking at the front of the engine you should see, from left to right, the PS pump, a tensioner pulley, and the crank pulley.

Loosen the 14mm fixing bolt and the 14mm fixing nut on the tensioner pulley.
On the bottom there is a 14mm adjuster bolt, loosen it to slide the pulley downward. It helps to have a swivel socket to access this bolt.
The belt goes around the outside of all 3 pulleys.

The alternator belt will need to be loosened to get the PS belt on behind it.
Between the Crankshaft pulley and the ac compressor pulley you will see another adjuster. Simply loosen the 14mm nut on the center of the pulley, then loosen the 14mm adjuster bolt sticking out the bottom to slacken the belt enough to slip it off.

Use the same adjusters to tension the belts once installed, and tighten down all fixing nuts/fixing bolts.

Be advised: If you broke your PS belt, you should verify your pump and tensioner pulley are in good shape and spin freely, and were not the cause of belt failure before putting on a new belt!

Belt Squealing on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I would try replacing the belt first because it is a cheaper fix. Are you certain it is the belt? Have a mechanic check your alternator. It could be that actually making the noise. I had a vehicle that made noises and it turned out to be a water pump going bad. I hate car problems!
