Hi i have a 1984 35 hp evinrude electric start E35RLCRR that wont start or turn over

If you are sure that all connections are clean and bright, including the battery to the ground and battery cable to the solenoid, jumper from the battery (+) to the solenoid (+). If the solenoid clicks, but motor doesn't turn over, your solenoid is bad. Try jumpering momentarily from the battery (+) to the starter (+) and that should cause the starter to rotate. If that makes your starter rotate, your solenoid is still bad. Be sure that your starter has a good ground connection

Replace the timing belt and the car will not crank

Always crank motor over by hand with a ratchet or breaker bar before attempting to start with key. You can very well ruin or lock up your motor if the timing is incorrect before you try to start with key. If its locked up, unhook battery. Place ratchet and socket on crank pully. rotate in reverse and then try to rotate forward. If there is anything holding the motor from turning by hand, pull timing belt and make sure everything is aligned correctly and try to crank by hand again 2 or 3 revolutions. If tight or locked, then motor needs inspected for bent, jammed valves, broken pistons.

Clicking noise when no start

your start motor is not rotating, means battery is empty or your start motor bendix is broken and cant rotate your motor then. Let somebody start your car and hit with a hammer on the startmotor, when bendix comes out and car start you need to replace bendix.

2001 Celica CTS will not start after clutch replaced...buzzing sound only

You have to ensure that the engine is not locked up and prevented from turning, you must check that the engune will rotate . (socket on crank pully or rock forward in gear with hand break off ) and you will see rotation of engine . A seized or locked engine will give you that buzz type sound (starter motor trying to operate) and will quickly damage starter motor ! Caution ...Good lick

I have a kenmore 80 series electric dryer. It gets

If your dryer doesn't tumble, check these: Belt Motor Door switch Belt Dryers have a drive belt that turns the clothes drum. If the belt breaks, the drum stops rotating. Then you need to replace the belt, and often the idler pulley, because the pulley tends to wear out at the same time. Click here for a belt installation diagram Motor If the dryer motor only hums when you press the Start button, the motor may be burned out. Here's how to test the dryer motor: Remove the belt. Check for obstructions in the blower fan housing. Manually rotate the shaft of the motor. If the motor is very stiff, or impossible to rotate manually, and the blower fan housing is clear, you need to replace the motor. If the motor rotates freely, run the motor momentarily with the belt removed and the blower in place. If the motor runs fine with the belt removed, there may be a problem with the idler pulley or the clothes drum. Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very difficult to move, correct any problem with the rollers or pulley, and then reassemble the dryer and try it again. If the motor hums but doesn't rotate on its own even with the belt removed--yet you can turn it freely by hand--you usually need to replace the motor or the motor start capacitor. Door switch Your dryer can't operate at all if the door switch is defective. It's inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Thanks for choosing fixya...Regards, Joe

I can hear the motor trying to move the windsheald wipers but they dont move ??

The motor is electronic and as long as current flows, the motor will always rotate. The same is also true with the windshield wiper motor. It has a a gear mounted at it's tip. Since the motor never starts, stops & n rotate again, the circular motion is converted via a rack & pinion assembly. So the gears, which are usually made of plastic,HDPE, tend wear out fast. This in turn is attached to the wipers which again exhibit to & fro motion.
Thus you might have to change entire assembly because plastic gears can't be bought & attached and maintained separately.........sodeep

Motor not starting

Double check all of your ground wires from the battery to the engine and body. Also have the battery checked. Even if the starter was bad, the voltage while cranking should not drop down to 2 volts.
