How much Freon and oil to put in a new used compressor

These dont use Freon. Freon is R22

These use R134 -46oz and 13oz of oil. You need to pump down the system though once the oil is added and let it sit with the vacuum pump to remove any moisture. Any moisture left in the system will ruin your expansion valve and compressor quickly. Then add one can of R134 and run the system for a minute to distribute the oil. then add more R134 until the gauges show it at the right pressure for your ambient air .

How do I check the Air Conditioner spark plugs in my 2002 Malibu?

Sounds like it is low on the coolant which causes it to only work part of the time. You could probably take the car to a auto parts store and at least here in the midwest, they can help recharge your freon/R22 so you have a good working air conditioner. If that is properly charged and leak free, then your air conditioner compressor might be going bad, but then you would hear a lot of belt squealing when it wasn't working. Most likely though it is just low on the freon/R22.

By the way, air conditioners don't have spark plugs......LOL

2005 ford explorer ac compressor not turning on

The most common cause is a lack of refrigerant. Most systems require a minimum of 2lbs of refrigerant to make the compressor engage. This is a precaution to prevent burning out your compressor. There are leak detection/refill kits available at most auto parts stores. There are also many service stations that are certified in automobile AC systems. Keep in mind, by law, service stations are required to search for and repair leaks prior to recharging your system.

How do i put freon in my 2006 lincoln zephyr?

best bet is to verify thats your problem first. Have a shop check it for you. If it doesnt need freon and you add some you will create other issues. Also if you actually lost freon on a car this new then you have a leak somewhere. Anything you do will just cause more freon to leak into the atmosphere which is a major no no in the Automobile industry. If we released freon we would loose our licence.

Did 1997 ford use the old r22 freon or the new r134a?

R134A. The R22 to R134A conversion was done in 1993. I ran into this when I bought a 93 Silverado a few months ago.

We bought a hose and freon and the hose doesn't seem to fit right. Can freon be refilled at home?

Make sure you have 134a coolant and gauge with lines to fit 134a NOT r12 or r22!!! And then there are 2 lines upper and lower, if you have the right hose you might be trying the wrong port.

No AC refrigerant in 1995 E250

The compressor has a valve, it lets out the old freon and this is where you charge with new freon. The truck should have a label under the hood possibly on top of grille. It will tell you what freon to use. You don't want to the wrong one. There are 2 types of freon. There is the older R22 that is for 94 and older vehicles, and R134A which is for the newer vehicles. You will have to look on your label, or as part store which kind. I believe it will be R134A
