SOURCE: 2003 galant wont start

Your timing belt might have busted. Mine did that in November of 2007.... I had to replace 2 of the 4 cylinders, along with the timing belt and housing. Total cost was a little over $1700.00

SOURCE: mitsubishi galant stopped while driving and all transmission fluid spilled out

sounds like his transmission just died. On most cars whan the transmission goes, components inside fail and the car quits moving. But on some vehicles the transmission literally self destructs and blows a hole through the transmission housing, leaving a puddle of transmission fluid like you described. I've seen it before on Chystler products but not Mitsubishis, but from what you've described it sounds the very same.

Check if your fuse is blown! If not have the wires tested that run into your fan if there ok and show power then your fan needs replaced! Please give me a thumbs up if this helped! Thanks

2003 galant does not to start

If the starter does not turn over the engine, the battery is probably flat.

If it does, and the engine does not fire, its either
  • a spark problem. Most common fault is the spark coil system (distributor or coil pack) has failed.
  • a fuel problem. Check that fuel is reaching the engine.
  • a fuel pump relay problem. This is behind the dash, and fail occasionally.
  • an ECU problem. If the ECU is running there may be a Check Engine light on the dashboard. Read the ECU code for a diagnostic start suggestion.
  • the ECU is dead (which happens) it has to be replaced with one from a wrecker.

Was driving my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant on the freeway & suddenly lost all power & the oil light came on. Now I can't get it to turn over at all. Any solutions?

check the battery if it is dead it is probably you alternator wasn't charging your battery and you where running on the reserve off you battery. if that's not the problem the ignition module is my second check usually when it heats up an cuts out let it cool down if it starts you module is going out

Cooling Fan not coming on 2002 Mitsubishi Galant

Check the fan itself for free turning--if it grinds or is hard to turn, replace the fan motor. The engine heat sensor reports temperature to the computer which turns on the relay and it turns on the fan motor. If you have A/C, turn it on--that should force the fan on all the time the car is running. If that works, then replace the sensor. If you don't have A/C, take a chance on the sensor--it's not too expensive. Wrap the threads with several turns of teflon tape when installing and don't over-tighten.

Not getting spark

Testing the coil packs.

1. Get an INSULATED wire and hook it to a ground on the car.
2. Get some one to help you
3. pull a spark plug wire off the coil
4. hold grounded wire close to, but not touching, the part where the spark plug wire connects
5. keep hands away from coil and have your helper turn the engine over ( start car and turn off)
6. if there was a spark between the wire and the coil pack it is good. if not, the coil pack needs replaced
7. replace the spark plug wire
8. test the rest
