This seems to work, thanks. Now it seems that the wiper is not inline anymore. It goes down to far on the windshield and after several rotations it wants to collide with the passenger side wiper. Is there a way to adjust that?

Check the drivers side wiper arm. The bottom of arm that mounts onto the shaft has a hole that has grooves and the shaft also has ridges which marries togather. Check the arm or the shaft the grooves may be smoothed out as a result the arm may not move when the shaft is turning. The arm may need to be replaced or the nut that holds the arm in place may be loose.this should solve the problem.

SOURCE: Passenger side windshield wiper stopped working.

You will need to take the cowl off and replace all of the bushings. Most auto parts stores will have them in stock.

How do I access the wiper linkage on my 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. the right wiper still moves but the driver side one stopped.

The grill that covers the area the wipers are attached to comes off. If you pop off the tabs on the connection point of the wipers you will expose a bolt that holds the wiper arm. Remove that and then remove the screws that hold the grill cover on. Once those are removed you will be able to see the whole mechanism.

2004 Pontiac grand am drivers side wiper not moving but passenger side is. bolt is tightened. when I turn on the pivot does not move.

One of two things . The wiper arm is not tight on the crank pivot , allowing the crank to move but not the wiper arm. Or the linkage from the wiper motor to the crank pivot has become disconnected .

The windshield wiper driver side does not move. Passenger side does. How do I get to it?

The wiper motor must be directly linked to the passenger side wiper, and the driver side wiper gets its action from the passenger motion. probably the linkage from passenger wiper to the driver side wiper must be the problem. Under the dashboard you can check it, the linkage must be snapped off. (safety first)

hello, this sounds like your wiper transmission got out of alignment possibly due to ice on windsheild.don't really know.short of replacing you could loosen the nut under the cover and move wiper arm back possibly.
