My hatch won't release from the remote or the door switch. No solenoid sound at the hatch. How do I get it to open if it's not a bad fuse?

There are actually three relays , an there are controlled by the BCM - body control module !
When a door lock switch is activated in the lock or unlock position the BCM will receive a voltage signal on either the door lock switch lock or unlock signal circuits.
The BCM, upon receipt of a lock switch lock or unlock signal, will switch the appropriate lock relay control circuits to battery positive voltage. This will energize the appropriate lock or unlock relays. The relay will supply voltage to the door lock actuator lock or unlock control circuits to one side of the lock actuator. Since the opposing side of the lock actuators are connected to ground through the other lock actuator control circuit and the normally closed contacts of the lock or unlock relay, the doors and liftgate will then lock or unlock appropriately.
Three relays are used to operate the locks. DRV DR UNLCK relay, PASS DR UNLOCK and DR LCK relay. This is done to isolate the driver door lock actuator so it can be unlocked by itself using the keyless entry transmitter.
Rear Hatch/Gate Description and Operation
The liftgate can be opened by operating the switch on the instrument panel. Battery voltage is supplied to the liftgate actuator through the body control module (BCM). The BCM will pulse the liftgate actuator when a release input is received through the key fob, or the instrument panel switch.
Door/Lift gate Latch Assembly
  1. Install a 20-A fused jumper wire between the control terminal 3 and 12 volts. Install a jumper wire between the ground terminal 2 and ground.
  2. Verify the actuator turns on & off.

If the function does not perform as specified, replace the applicable door latch.

Remote control

Do any of the other buttons on the remote work, like the horn or trunk-open buttons? If they do, then you might have a blown fuse or relay switch for the specific problem. On my Grand Am, there are relays for "Door Lock", "Door Unlock" and "Driver Door Unlock".

The car is not starting and the lock and unlock remote buttons is not working

Have you tried a new battery in the remote as your car may have a built in immobilizer that would operate from the remote, thus without using the lock/unlock the engine would not work

2001 Buick Regal. Power door lock swith will not lock doors.

Remove the door panel and unplug the connector to the door actuator. Probe the contacts with a voltmeter set on DC volts. Then operate the lock/unlock switch. You should see the voltage toggle from +12 volts to -12 volts. If you do, then the wiring, switch and connector are good and you have a bad actuator. Be prepared to start replacing all of them because they all operate the same number of cycles.

Power lock

check door locks fuses and relays.if all is good and you cant operate door lock buttons manually problem could be in the generic electronic module.if door locks dont work from the remote battery could be dead in remote transmitter.try to reset door locks control module first obtain all remote transmitter.sit inside vechicle with all doors closed.switch ignition from off to on 8 times in 10 seconds. doors should lock then unlock.when this procedure works then press any button on any of the remote transmitter doors should lock and unlock.if all fails let dealership fix..

I change my key batery and now the engine wont start

Make sure the battery is in correctly first.
If so, manually unlock the car, start it, and let run for about 2 minutes. Shut off, then shut the doors, unlocked. Use the remote to "lock" the doors, then unlock.
If this does not work, I suggest contacting the dealership of purchase.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I have a 94 Chevy G20 and am having problems with door locks. I can unlock them with the remote and in about five minutes they will lock back. It will not lock with door locks. If this is bad will it...

(1) Check the lock and unlock relays. If they have the same part number change them around to see if problem reverses.Could be bad relays.(2) Also check connections going to the actuators.

2003 sonata door locks won't lock with remote or lock button on arm rest, have to lock all doors manually. Will unlock with remote & lock button. not a hybrid

Hello! I suspect that Door lock Relay #1 is defective...It is common to both switch and remote activation to Lock all doors...Door Lock relay #2 is to unlock...Both relays are the same...Switch the relays and see if trouble follows...In that doors will no longer unlock...See diagram below for location...send comment with results
