Question about Cars & Trucks
It would be very difficult to pin point a starting issue without more complete information. But in general terms , has the vehicle been serviced/ tuned up recently? Anything from fouled spark plugs to a clogged fuel filter, to a corroded distributor cap/rotor can cause hard starting. If you can describe the issue in more detail, it would be helpful.

If the fluid is up -
it could be a vacume loss or the shifting module..
The shifting module is what tells it to shift - and it is controled by vacume pressure..

Need a bit more information to go on as there is no injector pump on a 4JX1 its a rail type engine .
You can get flash codes to come up on the engine check light from the OBDII socket by connecting pin 4 to pin 6 and turning the key to ign on . the light will flash - count the flashes gonna be something like 4 then 3 and maybe some other depends on how many faults you got.
If you get none then try my tips .
