Always follow the plug wires. IF you have a engine with a cover, find the bolts that hold it down. Remove the nuts, usually 4 total and remove the plastic cover to the engine. Find the plug wires and pull on the ends. Most websites that cover "how to" can be found with a question on your browser, but ask just as if you were asking another person......how to...........................

Test the Coils . The coil produce the high voltage for wire plugs+spark plug+motor. If the coil is defective you ignition system can be wrong. see the diagram attached.

When excelerate the car bogs down and it loses power the rpms jump up

How long has it been since you changed the spark plugs or had a tune-up? It could be a faulty wire to the spark plug that has come lose or a bad plug. Does the check engine service light come on?

What is the mileage on the car?

Loses power when it rains or wet outside

The is the coil pack itself? Is its surface clean?
Try reducing spark plug gap, because then the voltage does not have to rise as high.

1997 toyota starlet glanza v seems to lose power

Have you just started to have this problem recently? could be just some bad fuel. If not than I would lean towards checking or replacing your spark plugs & check spark plug wires for cracks. It could also be your catalytic converter is starting to plug up on you ? Check listed problems first before attempting anything else.

Losing power

Possible spark plugs or spark plug wires. Is your car 4 cylinder or v6? It's possible that there is moisture inside the distributor cap. If there is, dry it out and spray w40.

No spark at spark plugs

Check to see that voltage is getting from the coil to the distributor and then to the spark plugs. You can use a VOM or Test Light (whatever you used to check power to the coil) to determine where you are losing spark.
Good luck.
