For most people with 1992 Honda Civics this code can be resolved by checking the connections on the Cylinder position/camshaft position sensor which is located near the distributor. Make sure it is not shorting out and clean the area. If that doesn't work then the distributor needs to be replaced. Thanks for using Fixya.

9 blink code light while jumping 1994 honda civic ex 1.6

Code #9 is a problem in the cylinder position (CYP) sensor circuit. The CYP sensor detects the position of #1 cylinder for sequential fuel injection to each cylinder. This sensor is located inside the distributor and is not serviced seperately. Due to the problem honda had with their distributors it is a safe bet to say the sensor is your problem. if it is than the distributor housing will have to be replaced. you can swap over your coil and ignitor to the new housing. Honda's don't have any problems with the wiring harness unless its collision damaged or rodent damaged. you can find this by doing a visual inspection of the harness. however I've seen PCM's (the computer) go bad on occasion. Recommend pin testing the circuit to confirm.

I replaced the battery on my 2008 Honda Civic & now I have an error code 9 on the radio which does not work. How do I reset the clock & radio?

you will have to check your glovebox for manualy, there is also a card with the radio code, if you cant find it then the radio has to be removed to get serail # and then call the dealer; they will give you the code.

you need a scanner to pull the code. its prob a seat belt buckle. seat belts and all buckles are under a lifetime warr at all honda dealers. take it to a honda dealer to have the code checked out. if its a 9-3 or 9-4 or any seat belt, or seat belt buckle, the repair will be free.
