Question about Jeep Commander

3 Answers

Where is the a/c drain located on a 2008 jeep commander? Please be as specific as possible. I think it may be clogged because my pass/side floorboard become wet when I run the a/c during long roadtrips. Also, the a/c smells awful when I initially turn it on. I've tried using frigi-fresh, but I don't think the problem will permanently go away until I fix the drainage issue.

If you look at where the heater core pipes run into and out of the firewall under the hood. there should be a small rubber/plastic tube coming out of the firewall near these pipes. this is the drain.

Had the same problem, 2006 Commander, and the dealer won't help fix my now stinky Jeep since they can't duplicate the issue.

I'd love anymore information you have on this, including Warranty claims made.

Look on the firewall (passenger engine side) just below the location of the bottom of the heater box You will find a small stub hose connected to the firewall with nothing else on the other end . so,.you are looking on the firewall on the passenger side
Depending upon how much junk is in the way you can either reach it from the top or bottom. Roll it in your fingers and usually it will drain. Don't stick anything long or sharp into it or you can damage heater components. you are looking on the firewall on the passenger side

My floorboard keeps getting wet on my chrysler town and country. I had my heater core replaced, but it is still doing it.

Next time it is raining, take a flashlight and look up under the dash to locate the source. Rain that falls into the air intake at the base of the windshield has to drain somewhere. The factory sealant may not be working or there may be leaves clogging the drainage path. Put a piece of newspaper on the floor under the heater core location and run the engine with the heater turned on to detect leakage which may migrate to the driver's side. If this is the source, you should be able to smell antifreeze.

Water in passengers floorboard 1993 jeep cherokee limited

your ac drip line is clogged, its a small tube that runs down the firewall that allows built up condensation from the unit to drain from the vehicle, its easiest to locate if the car is placed on a lift ,, but if thats not an option, you have to get under the vehicle, and locate that small tube,, normally they are towards the passenger side , yet near the middle of the vehicle,, DO NOT try and clear the clog with air pressure as it will just make the clog worse,, use a stiff wire, and gently work it up into the hose,, be ready for a flash of water to come out,, , once the clog is loosened the water behind it will push the clog out, so be ready to get a little wet

My passenger side floorboard floods every time I use the AC in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. can you please help me locate the AC drain line so that I can un clog it?

The drain hose that allows moisture to exit the HVAC system is clooged with debri and prevents the water from exiting the HVAC area. Open the hood and you will see a rubber hose that has an opening on the end. Use compressed are to blow the clogged area free and allow water to exit.

Water leak on passenger floorboard also an ac problem

probably leaking heater core. you may have low coolant level now. the only place water comes in the cabin is for the heater, that has got to be it. the heater core can be bypassed (like my car's is) by simply cutting the hose that leads into the car and leave about a foot, make a big U out of it and plug the other side of the hose into the coolant passage that returns from the heater core and leads into the intake manifold. pretty easy you will need a knife, hose clamps, and common sense. the third one is a little harder to come by! :)

Trying to find ac drain line on 1998 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6 cyl.. water backing up onto pass side floorboards as I guess it's clogged.. please advise.

drain tube located in engine bay, when looking into engine bay drain tube is just above right hand side chassis leg on bulkhead, repair for problem is locate lower casing inside passenger footwell then drill a hole in the centre of the lowest point then poke through with metal coat hanger, note when you drill water will drain in to vehicle collect and throw out then once you clear drain tube plug up hole, hole size required 5mm, lowest point round shape, good luck
