I have a 1985 Chevy caprice classic an I go to cut it off it act like it dnt wanna cut off so I gotta pump the gas several times for it cut off y is it doin tht

It could be running hot, not enough to be called overheating but too hot. Your timing could be out a little bit. Your carb could need to be adjusted. I would suggest a tune up, plugs, cap, rotor. Check and top up the rad, If it is running hot and the thermostat hasn't been changed in 3 or more years, do it.

Car wont start when hot

Mr. Nicolas I have read your problem and saw that you have problem on hot start and cuts out. I will give you two advices. 1. Have you ever cleaned the throttle body on the engine? If not You must do it as that it is the reason of cutting out. 2. Check having help when the car starts if you have strong spark or fuel is not cutting off. Last thing I personally have the filing either you have tight valves even are hydraulic.

try this... take off your ignition coil and test the resistance of the coil.. both cold and hot.. if your test goes to infinite all zeros.. you have what's commmonly called a hot coil... when it heats up it doesn't make contact internally right and doesn't allow power to flow.. no spark from coil.. no vrroom vrroom
