Key doesnt respond or start 2002 v.w. golf - 2002 Volkswagen Golf

take your door panel off, and check.to.see if the wires are starting to.melt, check your grounds, this.is where I would.start

try this first (cheapest remedy first) open the sunroof fully take key out of ignition shut all doors then put the key in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to unlock car(windows will go down)then wait 30 secs.then put key back in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to lock car,windows will go up and the sunroof will close.if the sunroof does not shut properly then we start with motor park switch.....

sounds like a battery problem...just because the lights are on doesnt mean that the cca is there

sounds like lifters on the ticking

Check fuses # 5, a brown 7.5 amp, and #25, a white 25 amp

sounds like the problem I had with my 95 jetta... the ignition switch was the problem there... it was worn out! good luck!

Change your brake light sensor.

i got golf gti mk3 it will not start

it will go blank and stay blank unless you get a fault..i/e low washer fluid,brake fluid,bonnet up,doors open etc,etc,try it ! when you turn on the key do you get anything at all ?
