Need more info on chassis.
Which e-brake system, Trans brake?
Trans brake should always have some tension on cable. If no tension there could be internal problems (shoes worn).
If rear e-brake it function same as light truck setup.

93 ford F800 park brake will not hold

The first thing to check is the amount of linings on the shoes . If less than 50 % replace the linings/ shoes. Next check the adjustment is right up . Park brake operation should never rely on hydraulics for the simple reason that hydraulics leak and the brakes come off. It will probably be spring loaded with the electric over hydraulics holding the brakes off when moving

Emergency brake not releasing correctly on a 98 zx2 could the cable be corrodided ?

yes the cables could be sticking from corrosion. The best way to test that is to disconnect the cables and see if they move freely. Another common problem is the parking brake actuators inside the drums that hook to the parking brake cables. Good Luck.

Parking brake light comes on

Actually thats the brake warning light which will come on when the brake fluid is low or the equalizer valve goes to one side of the system.
You should have the hydraulic brakes checked for leaks.

4 Door 97 Ford Escort with automatic gear shift moves freely back and forth and is not connecting to any gear. Any suggestions?

The shifter cable attaches to the arm on the side of the transaxle.
Look under the hood and locate the cable coming from the firewall.
You can set the parking brake and move the arm if the cable is broke.

I have 1980 f600 with automatic tran it doesnt have park on gear selector what does it use for park

The hand brake. It is a drum on the back of the transmission. with a band that goes around the outside. There is an adjustment on these if it is not working good. Also check that there is good break material between the band and the drum. Post back if you need more info.

Park brake routinely stuck whenever weather was damp, the brake handle released but the it took gentle rocking to obtain forward motion. on 1/28/10 the brake froze and would not release and attempt to move...

If you do not use the parking brake all the time, you will have problems with it locking up, linkage, cable, can all rust causing it to freeze.

The best thing is too use it at least 2 times a week to keep it moving freely.

Thousands of people never use it, then one day there on a hill and apply it, by now it is rusted and stays stuck on, so they either destroy there pads or the rotor or drum.

Once you have it repaired, try and use it as much as possible to avoid this problem.

Can't shift into reverse.

There is a brake lamp switch located on the brake pedal itself, this also works as the shift lock release.
