With 90 k on the engine I would upgrade the viscosity of the oil to a 20w-50 grade .

What's the best oil for my 2009 Caravan?

The 10-30 oil should not cause a problem. You might want to get an experienced mechanic to check the noise to make sure it is nothing bad. In the meantime always give your van regular oil changes. That is the best thing you can do to maintain your vehicle.

2003 F150 4.6 w/ 90K miles using a quart of oil every 3 weeks. what's most likely cause?

A V8 engine will start to consume more oil as they get more and more
miles on them. The valve stem seals and piston rings wear, and let
more and more oil burn off in the exhaust. How many miles are you
travelling in said 3 weeks?

I have a 2005 dodge neon sxt, in the morning when I start it up I hear a loud knocking noise from the engine but after about 15 seconds it gets softer but is still there all day when I'm driving around.

It is probably your lifters sticking. Check your engine oil level and if thats fine, then add some oil detergent/additive that says it will "reduce engine knock and free sticky lifters" run with that additive for a couple hundred miles or until the noise gets better. then replce your oil after that without using the additive

My 1999 Honda Odyssey Van has ~ 205000 miles on

I'm surprised a dealership made that mistake. Honda did start making engines to take oil until around 2003. I would go back and have them put the correct oil in the van. 5W-20 is not as thick as 5w-30, so the engine may start to make louder noises down the road. Just stick with 5w-30 for what the engine was made for.

73k miles needs new engine? 2002 Sentra SER

Did u add oil and attempt to start car? What's it doing? How often did u have to add a quart of oil (in miles)?
It does sound like it was consuming too much oil, but once u run it dry, there is no warantee that will cover it, so manufacturer can't (won't) help u on this. I agree, an engine rebuild would be VERY expensive due to no oil damage, the best thing to do (if the car is in good shape otherwise, trans. good, body good) would be to find a used motor from a scrap yard (must be careful to check mileage and that the 'donor' car wasn't in a bad front end collision which may cause engine problems) or a re-manufactured engine. Any further questions, let me know, sorry for the bad news.

Tapping in engine

it sounds like the oil pressure is too high.have someone check for clogged blow-by hoses or connections.some blow-by connections have screens in them tha can become clogged with dust or oil deposits.also check for places where dust can enter into the engine, such as,air filters and air hoses that may be loose or damaged.

Engin oil

The proper oil for any car, depend of the mileage, temperature conditions , altitude condition.
temperature below 40 Farenheit. recomeded oil is 0w20.
Some manufactures recomended use 5w20 in all conditions. and miles.
More than 40 f. 5w30 to 20w50,
If you car is in 0 miles to 30,000 miles 5w30
30k to 50k 10w30
50k to 90k 10w40
90k and up 20w50

This is just a recomended reference or table.
always consult with your owners manual.
Or manufacters spec.
