My 94 nissan sentra doesn't run smooth over 3000 rpm or if you mash the gas pedal

My 94 sentra doesn't run smooth over 3000 rpm or if you to mash the gas pedal. It will ideal fine and run fine if you ease on the gas pedal but stumbles when you get up around 3000 rpm. I put on a new distributor and the fuel pressure stay's over 38 psi. I tried new wires and plugs. I switched the map sensor. New coil pack.

I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe that did the same thing. I changed the oil pump, new oil, and head gasket. It now has power and doesn't fall on its face when I step into the throttle hard. Hope this helps.

The RPM gauge of my nissan sentra 2000 is fluctuating from zero to maximum, but the engine still run smoothly, what would be its problem? Thanks

it will be either a loose connection /a bad rpm sensor that is causing your problem. It may even be a bad earth wire.

IfI suggest ckg the maf sensor. It tells the ecu how much fuel is needed to keep the air fuel ratio measuring the amout of air passing into the intake duct from the air cleaner.. First ck the connector. the maf sensor is the first in the duct coming from the air cleaner... Good luck.

94 Nissan Truck KA25E engine

You most likely need to replace said Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS). If you disconnect this sensor, the ECM uses other sensor data to "calculate" fuel delivery. Problem is, this method is not good for real time- meaning that when you hit the gas pedal, the ECM has to calculate the fuel needed and the engine doesn't rev up right, causing more of a driveability issue.

I've replaced quite a few of these sensors. Be sure to buy a new Nissan air filter when you buy the new MAFS. Even if you do the work, Nissan will want to see that should you have a parts warranty (12 months/ 12,000 miles) claim. No air filter replacement (with a Nissan part) = no warranty coverage.

This is not the most accurate test to use to check the operation of a MAFS, but it usually gives you an idea if you're in the right area- idle smooths when disconnected usually means you are in the right area.

Hope this is helpful!!
