Transmission problem. I would get it in to be looked at. Could mean the difference between hundreds and a few thousand dollars to fix if you keep driving it.

1998 intrigued Oldsmobile with 3 hundred thousand miles on it it runs hot only when drivin it

sounds like a thermostat issue or could have an air bubble in the system caused by a small leak or underfilling or improper bleeding of the system. there can be NO air in the cooling systems of new vehicles!!! they will lose prime quickly and overheat!

2003 Nissan Maxima SE with bad pining at partial throttle only across all RPM but worse at lower range. Replaced MAF and cleaned fuel injectors with results certainly no better (maybe a little worse)....

I don't want to be sarcastic here, but I see you throwing parts at it, and getting frustrated. You may be better off having it, at least diagnosed professionally, and going from there.
Almost all of what I read on this site and Iam seeing hundreds if not thousands of questions, I see a lot of parts going into vehicles and almost non of them made any sense. Todays vehicles are high tech and all electronic. You need to know those systems and theory to work on them, or leave the hood closed.

2004 ford taurus lacks power wont rev above three thousand rpm and wont drive over twenty miles per hour replaced intake manifold and catalytic assymbly and problem pressists

just wondering if it has an automatic transmissioin or manual, because it might be related to the driveline and not the engine...also, have you had a compression check done, checked the state of the spark plugs etc.....as these will provide genuine insights into how the engine is "feeling"

My 2003 suburban seems to run at a higher rpm.

Hummm, 2000 rpm does not seem high, really. But another item to look at is your FAN. The clutch fan fails and drives the fan full engauge. Sounds like a jeep...massive sounding, relating to engine RPM, but not necessarily different.

I mentiont his because a trans does not typically fail and give a few hundred RPM. Usually a slipping sensation is described....

it sound like a sensor is bad...maybe the mass air flow??? I would send the car to someone that can scan the car on a road test...that would find the bad sensor

Runs real lean and surges under throttle massive loss of power

if you have a vacuum guage handy hook it to your manifold and if your reading is under 15 hg then you have a manifold gasket leaking or you could just replace the gasket.

99 taurus running rough smells funny light flashing

The reason the check engine light is flashing instead of on steady is because it is missing bad and the car companies did this to tell you to stop the car as soon as possible to prevent damage. That is the only time the light will flash off and on instead of being on steady.
The cause is a little harder to diagnose. It could be a fouled spark plug, a bad plug wire, an injector, stopped up fuel filter. I can't remember if that car has the distributer or the coil packs but you could have a problem there. If you have never changed the spark plugs or fuel filter, it is well over a hundred thousand miles to do so now. They say to change them at one hundred thousand but 50 to 75 thousand is better and you will get better mileage. The fuel filter needs to be changed every 20 thousand miles now days because of all the cheap gas we have to put in the cars.
This is for mechanics or technicians. If no one out there believes me about the mileage on the fuel filter, then take the filter off and see what comes out the back. Looks like black water to me.
