Upon acceleration whether it be at a stop light or passing another vehicle, the gas pedal functions and the engine sounds like it is trying to accelerate. Take to Autozone (or similar) and have the Check Engine Light codes printed out for you. Probably getting misfire codes P0300, 0301, 0302, 0303 and/or 0304. Code P0300 is for random/multiple (2 or more) cylinder misfires, whereas the others are denoting which specific cylinder (last digit) is misfiring. Then work it out from there. Misfires occur when you are missing one or more of necessary items for combustion - Fuel, Air, Spark & Timing. If you get the code 0300 (random/multiple), then it points to something that all the cylinders are commonly using - Fuel rail pressure, Air Intake/Throttle body area, Common Coil Pack (spark), or Camshaft/Crankshaft position sensors (timing). If you get the code for a specific cylinder (example, P0302 - Cylinder #2 misfire), then you need to look at the necessary items of combustion for just that cylinder. Fuel = Fuel Injector working? Air = Do you have compression in this cylinder? Spark = Do you have good spark? Spark Plug? Plug Wire? Plug Wire Boot? , There are tons of Youtube videos on diagnosing misfire codes. Good luck.

This sounds like a transmission problem. I would take this into someplace like an Aamco. Have them do a diagnostic for 80 bucks to eliminate that or get it fixed while it is still cheaper to do.

SOURCE: Pontiac G6 gas pedal rattle

Is this almost like a metallic buzzing sound?

Find the catalytic converter under the car it should have a shield on it. Use a broomstick with the car running and hold the shield still and have someone give it a little gas. Just move from shield to shield until you find the offending shield.

Don't touch these with your hand as they can get hot fast.

Most parts houses sell a very large hose clamp to go around these shield for about $10, they will know exactly what you are looking for.

SOURCE: Engine Seized up on a 2006 Pontiac G6

check the oil and coolant levels. if coolant is low pull the sparkplugs and try to turn the engine over if still not turning free remove the serpentine belt and try again, if it turns over ok check the pullyes on the front of the motor to see if they all turn free by hand. a serpentine belt can prevent an engine from turning over if a tensioner, idler, water pump, alternator, or power steering pump is siezed up or starting to seize. being your battery is bad I'm thinking probably the alternator is seized. hope this helps mike.

Sounds like a transmission issue, have the car scanned for ant transmission related codes. Most transmission shops will check to make sure your transmission is working 100% free of charge. With what you have described, almost sounds like you don't have 1st or 4th gear and your transmission is running on 2nd and 3rd gear. Easy fix if the 1st-4th solenoid needs to be replaced, or the wire harness has gone bad. Start with getting your car scanned and let me know if your transmission is starting on 2nd. Good luck

Look for a soft radiator hose. There is a spring inside that prevents it from collapsing. I'll bet that spring has rusted away. Easiest way to tell is have someone else push the accelerator while you watch both radiator hoses.

Hello I need help locating the fuse/relay for my power windows on my 2006 Pontiac G6. My windows are stuck in the down position.

The 2007 Pontiac G6 engine compartment fuse block is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery. The wiring circuits in Pontiac G6 are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible links. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. Below diagram and table shows 2007 Pontiac G6 Engine Compartment Fuse Panel, Relay and the Circuit Protected.
