Question about 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser
The solenoids should be visible straight up as you look after the transmission pan is off. Each one is slightly different but you should be able to see how it is fastened in there after it has drained off.

looks like its above the axel on the engine side . above oil filter . you should be able to find it from there , best picture i could find .

The motor is gone and the switch could be gone too.
I would replace both to be on the safe side.
The switch is not that expensive. The motor is more expensve.
