SOURCE: problem when first cranking it
COULD BE THE IDLE SPEED SENSOR. TRY UNPLUGGING IT AND SEE IF THE IDLE JUMPS UP WHEN YOU CRANK THE ENGINE. THIS IS ON THE THROTTLE BODY. BUT BE AWARE THAT UNPLUGGING THIS WILL PRODUCE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE. IF YOU TAKE IT TO AN ADVANCE AUTO PARTS STORE OR AN AUTO-ZONE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SCAN AND ERASE THE CODE FOR YOU FREE OF CHARGE. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK

check the plug at the mass air flow sensor (MAF)
Corrosion is a common problem at these plugs.
clean the corrosion and then protect it with dielectric grease (silicone grease) I use mag wheel cleaner. the etching kind has phosphoric acid in it and disolves the ccorrosion. just dont forget to rinse well and then protect it afterwards. If you dont it will corrode quickly

SOURCE: won't start unless you push
it sounds like fuel pump is going. pressure should be around 40 psi.
Or it could be flooding. Holding gas pedal to floor during cranking of the engine, shuts off fuel flow through the injectors to clear a flooded engine. After engine is running again, it lets fuel flow.
If you have a Mass Air Flow Sensor in the iar intake tube, clean it with spray carb cleaner several times.
Also, try disconnecting the oxygen sensor to see if it helps. It will turn your check engine light on, but you can cycle key from off to "on" 40 times to turn it off.
