SOURCE: crankshaft sensor located 98 jeep grnd cher 4wd 6cy

it is located at the back of the engine on top of the transmission bell housing, the plug runs over to the passenger side of the engine bay and it comes out from behind the engine, you can actually get your hand on the sensor itself from under the hood on the drivers side, and i believe its a 13mm bolt holding it in,the new sensor will have a sticker on the end of it...leave it there,it is used for correct spacing between the sensor and the flywheel, hope this helps

Since you have the die hard, can not kill 4.0, I believe this mated with the 42RE transmission. My understanding It use's a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear). The 42RE transmissions use a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear). If you still have a cap rotor and ignition wires, it's inside the distributor. If not, it is the part where the distributor used to be (center rear of the engine behind the intake manifold)
