Need a little more info. This happened immediately after picking it up? I mean as soon as you got home, not 2 or 3 day later?

Dang, spend all that time and money. When you have a bad wire somewhere. Check the wiring from the transmission to the brain box. I would bet you'll find it.

Replaced the brain box,but still wont start

Yes unforunatly, unless you know of a good repair shop that has the proper equipment. The thing is you vehicle may run with just a junk yard "brain box" (powertrain control module or PCM) but it wouldn't have the correct info in it (VIN gor that vehicle or mileage etc...). WWhat's cuasing the vehicle not to run is the anti theft. Your vehicles keys have a transpoder or chip in it that goes to a "brain box" (Sentry key immobilizer module or SKIM) that in turn sends a signal to the PCM telling it that nobody has just broke into the ignition switch and is just turning it with a screwdriver or something. There is really no way to bypass it either. Wish I had better news but I hope this helped

Hi, this is called a shift flare and is usually caused by a pressure problem inside the transmission.
Line pressure comes from the internal pump in the transmission. When the pump pressure drops below the minium the problems become noticable. This problem requires the transmission to be dissasembled and rebuilt. I reccomend a quality transmission shop or a used transmission. The internal workings of an automatic transmission can be quite complicated and I dont suggest attempting this yourself. I dont even rebuild automatics myself only manuals. Let you fiance' know that he can pick my brain anytime but not all problems can be taken care of long distance.

Shifter works fine but will not go into drive. reverse is fine

It is gonna be a forward clutch pack issue or an input sprag issue depending on what specific ford you are working on.There is nothing electrical that will keep it from going into drive on any ford model. These are internal repairs and will mean a transmission overhaul.Good Luck!

Why is my s10 pick up truck not going into reverse and goes into the other gears

the reverse clutch pack is worn out in the transmission, the reverse clutch is one of the 1st parts to wear out in an automatic transmission, you will need an overhaul to repair this problem.

No reverse

Automatic or manual transmission?

Automatic= check your fluid. If its low, add appropriate trans fluid.(check owners manual)

If its not low, last ditch might be to add "Trans X". this is a product which can restore enough life to the belts to operate for a bit more. But usually, this is the first sign of the tranny going out.

If its a manual transmission= game over.

Speedometer won't work on 1995 mustang

Modern cars no longer use a mechanical cable and speedometer. They have an electronic sensor called the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) which is mounted to the transmission where the old speedometer cable used to go. If the engine was replaced, perhaps the mechanic forgot to plug the wiring harness back into the VSS? Or perhaps he damaged the wiring or the sensor during the engine overhaul. (The transmission has to be removed to remove the engine from the car.)
