I don't know if this will help if it's turning over your missing one of two things or both fuel or spark you can spray either in the throttle body then try it or pull a plug wire stick a screw driver in the end of the wire then hold the metal part of the screw driver next to the motor and have someone turn the key and try to start if it sparks it good keep in touch good luck

SOURCE: starting problem with 1998 Saturn SW2

Ok I know that Coolant Temp Sensors are very very Common to Saturns, Only buy the Parts at saturn they are Calibrated Parts. Aftermarket do not work well.
You could have a work starter bendix Drive or a worn Flywheel that is causing the crackling sound you hear, To be totally honest I need to hear the sound to tell you for sure. If this information is good please Give me a Fixya! Rating and if there is anything more I can do for you please contact me .

SOURCE: 1999 Saturn SL1 goe through has starter problems

try getting a new fly wheel installed in your car because it soulds like you have a few ground down spots on it. my buddies saturn had this problem with the starter and he had to change the flywheel and it has worked ever since and that was 2 years ago.

SOURCE: possible bad alternator?

I went through three alternators before we found a good one for our saturn sl2. Now she has been good for two years. All I did was go back to where we bought it from, they hooked up the alternator to a machine and gave us a new one when it read that it was faulty.

You need to replace your ignition switch. If it has already been replaced then you will prob. need a BCM.

Need help troubleshooting 89 omni?

You need a scanner. Does the PCM see the engine cranking?
Are the injectors firing (evidence PCM see's engine cranking)?
Does the system show it is firing? This is things you need to know to diagnosis a a no start/hard starting engine.
I've seen Dodges not seeing engine crank due to bad crank sensors. Usually jeeps.
Good luck and ask more if needed?

Engine won't turn over when starting, why?

Joe, was a bad battery causing the start problem? or did you assume it was the battery?
Not knowing what is wrong, can cause you to replace lots of things, without resolving the real problem.
The could be a bad starter relay, a bad cable or just a bad connection to the starter motor. But also dead point in the starter motor. First try to do a correct diagnose, by testing things and then replace. Making a diagnose, not being close to the car is almost impossible.

My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica automatically dies as soon as I shut the car off, but will start once jumped, it has a new battery....what is the problem?

Can be loose battery connection,or weak starter motor/solenoid.Sometimes new battery even comes weak/faulty.Get the battery bench tested at local car garage.

It can be the issue with weak battery or faulty battery or if battery is ok,then its faulty starter causing the issue.

Blown Fuses - Dead 1998 Ford Escort

Try changing the fuel filter first we always change them when servicing the fuel pump anyway, its easy and cheap,if that doesnt solve the problem you will have to perform an amperage draw test on the fuel pump to insure your not replacing a good pump. Check the fuel pump relay and inertia switch and wiring also.Although possible its unlikley the fuel pump would blow a fuse consistantly without displaying any driveability problems. There may also be another component running off the fuel pump fuse have your mechanic pull a wiring diagram to find out.
