You are getting a short somewhere within the circuit. If you are capable, try putting an volt/ohm meter in 12v position and find a chasis ground, put the negative lead on it. Second, remove connector from fan and sequentially take your positive lead and go from pin to pin until you find voltage. When that happens, that wire in the circuit is possibly your culprit. Having a wiring diagram will help in determining where that wire is connected and will be able to pin point a possible fault. SOURCE: the cooling fan doesnt work on my 91 honda accord

  1. Cooling fan Relay
  2. Engine temp Sensor
  3. Cooling fan itself
  4. If While A/C is on Fan does not come on I would Check Fan By unplugging it first than apply Pos+ and Neg- to it if it comes on that's eliminated Then go to step 1-3 one of them is bad I usually replace Engine temp sensors no mater what they are Crucial components for the safety of the Engine.

SOURCE: radiator cooling fan 30 amp. fuse keep blowing

The fan may run with jumper wires but if it''s blowing the 30 Amp Maxifuse it's needs a new or used fan motor. It's pulling too many amps.I have almost never seen a fan relay concern.Only other thing you may check is the wiring down near the fan shoud I have seen the 2 wires get loose from the conduit & melt onto exhaust manifold.Hope tHis Helps

SOURCE: cooling fan fuse

most likely the cooling fan has a short in it. disconnect the connector on the fan. If it doesn't blow now its the fan motor. If it still blows you have a short from the fuse to the motor. What this means is the hot wire is touching bare metal somewhere

SOURCE: My 2000 lincoln ls cooling fan will not turn on.

Radiator cooling fan is not electric, it is driven by a silly hydraulic pump which is located low on the passenger side of the engine above the alternator. All 2000-2002 LS's have this system. Most likely either the motor or pump has failed.

94 Jetta Diesel Fuse For Heat/Cool Blower Motor Keeps Popping As Soon As Car Is Turned On Even If The Fan Switch Is In Off Position

Could be a bad switch or a ground fault. Unclip the wires(or terminal) from the switch and inspect the plug for a short. Replace the fuse and turn the ignition on with the switch unplugged. If the fuse still pops there is a ground fault somewhere else in the wiring.

Fan not working causing car to heat up

Doesn't have to be a short. If the motor is seized it will cause the same problem.

Why does my fan keep running in my 2003 Volvo S 60 after the car is off?

It can be faulty fan relay. The relay is not turning the system off.Or its wire short issue.Even with ignition off ,the fan relay is getting power so its not letting the fan to turn off.Bypass the fan control relay and see if still the fan works with ignition off or not.

Mini Cooper 2002 overheated, fan fuse keeps blowing

The most common cause for the cooling fan fuse to blow is a bad cooling fan motor. The failng motor will draw an excessive amount of current which actually heats up the fuse and melts it. Now if your fuse is blowing the instant the cooling fan(s) turn on, then that could be a "dead short". either inside the cooling fan motor or in the wiring going to it. Follow and inspect the wiring leading to the cooling fan motor. Check for any broken, cracked or burnt wires. If you don't see any of that, then you'll probably need a new motor. If you think you can tackle the job, most auto parts stores sell generic replacement cooling fan motors much less than you would pay at the dealership.
WARNING! - some cooling fan motors are easy to get to, and others are very difficult. Study yours carefully and then decide if you want to tackle the job before you start tearing it apart.

A bad relay will not blow a fuse. The radiator cooling fan must run with the A/C on or the vehicle will overheat and the A/C will perform poorly. First I would check the draw on you cooling fan motor-it may be blowing the fuse, or you have a wire shorted to ground.

As soon as I put a new fuse and hit the turn signal it blows the fuse right away even if I TURN THR HAZZORDS ON THE FUSE WILL BLOW

is the fuse a 15 or higher, if so you probably have a dead short in the wiring, like the positive wire is touching metal somewhere on the body or chassis

Blowing fuses, abs light comes on-running lights go out.Ran fan doesn't work, something with this blows the 25 amp fuse.Usually as soon as I turn the key to the on position. Any Ideas thanks

Blown fuse means there is an increase of current due to an increase of load or a short. You may want to check the wiring harness that has the wires of those not running that you have mentioned for open circuit, corroded insulation, loose cable, ect that needs replacement and mending.

1991 Honda accord

I would suggest checking to make sure your electric fan(s) are turning on. When you are moving they may be enough air flowing through the radiator to cool it enough not to run extremely hot, but as soon as you stop and the air stops it heats up. Check the fan(s) to see if they turning on. If not, check the fuse block ad see if the fuse or relay for the fan is bad. Hope this helps.
